Well, I started being an otaku 6 years ago when I was 6 years old, I watched animax every day, my nanny said that I wasn't allowed to watch those anime cause it's really not for kids, but since then I was addicted to it, my papa used to buy me stickers of Tsubasa Chronicles, and a few CDs :D hahaha..
