Must read books that are off the beaten trail (work in progress, updated as I see fit):

Throne of Glass series (Six Books!!! Plus novella prequels! Absolutely amazing)

Wings of Fire series (unique series about dragons and prophecies. A little childish, but fun)

The False Princess (amazing stand alone [as far as I know] book)

Razorland Trilogy (another post-apocalyptic society trilogy with an interesting concept)

The Books of Beginning series (I've only read one, but it was surprisingly good. Interesting concept.)

Dangerous (by the same author as Princess Academy. A sci-fi book with realistic superpowers mixed in)

Shiver series (four books now. Modern-age werewolves. 'Nough said.)

The Scorpio Races (same author as Shiver. Amazing stand-alone novel)

Red Rising trilogy (humans on Mars with politics and slaves and stuff... Hard to explain but really good. It's a trilogy)

The Witcher books (the basis for the Witcher video games. A few collections of short stories plus a 6 or 7 book series)

Some of these stereotypes are absolutely true for me and others are just plain insulting. Personally, I couldn't care less about what other people think about me, but I do think stereotypes are wrong. Challenge accepted!
