After a late hunt, he and Sam are both battered, and all he wants is some gas to drive home. But the girl inside keeps staring at him like something's wrong.

In episode 10x09 (The Things We Left Behind), Cas asks Sam and Dean if they loved their father. This one-shot reflects on Dean's complicated answer to that question.

Dean has always been special, Mary just didn't know how much. Dean was little when he died for the very first time and it changed his life forever. Being a hunter can be tricky. Being a hunter who sees dead people is even trickier. Especially when you don't know why you see them and you really don't want your family to find out about your capability.

Season 13. One minute, they'd been working together in perfect synergy, the hunt going exactly according to plan and the next minute, they'd both been on the ground fighting for their lives. The aftermath of a hunt gone wrong leaves them both more than a little torn up.

Except something goes wrong with the spell, and Sam and Dean find themselves in a place they don't expect, and in the middle of a hunt they aren't equipped for. Can they kill the monster, find a way to repair the Colt, and get back home without changing history?

One of the only times he checked Sam into a hospital by using his legitimate last name would be the time he found out he has a daughter. Alternative Universe revolving around Dean, Sam and Dean's little girl. This chapter has mild hurt/comfort and lots of family feels.

Holidays weren't something they tended to celebrate because of the Winchester luck. There's one Christmas, though, that doesn't fall victim to the Winchester curse. Not that the hellhounds, demons, and a nasty poltergeist didn't try to ruin it. T for some mild swearing.
