Hello Everyone

I'm new to the world of fan fic and this will be my first time publishing things! I've always loved writing though, and have written on and off all my life, from my teenage years to middle age which is where I am now! I've taken part in writers groups and done a few courses, and hope one day to write a novel. I discovered the world of fan fic through my obsessive love for Christian and Syed from Eastenders and I love reading other fans stories, and have finally been inspired to have a go myself.

Favourite writers

I love Iris Murdoch, hence the username, and my favourite novel of all time is The Sea, The Sea which won the Booker Prize in 1977. I read it for the first time when I was about 17 and have probably read it around 10 times over the course of my life (!)- it won't be a well known novel for younger people on here, but if you like stories of obsession and delusion, it's a great read. She is a master of dialogue and plotting.

Other writers I love - Margaret Attwood, Sarah Walters, Kate Atkinson, Paul Auster, Iain Banks, John Steinbeck - I've got very wide taste!
