Slight AU. Arnold never finds his father's journal, and gives up hope of ever finding them. Meanwhile, a certain unibrowed, blonde girl struggles to find a way to show her love how she truly feels. Can she find a way to prove herself and mend the hole in Arnold's heart?

This story takes place after TJM. Three years ago Arnold made the difficult decision to return to the jungles of San Lorenzo with his parents. It is now three years later as he prepares himself for the long trip back home to Hillwood and a special someone that has been biding her time, waiting patiently for his return.

Post TJM. 6th grade was supposed to be easier for Arnold. A new relationship with Helga? The Beeper Emporium bought out? That was all it took and he was back to solving others problems. The last thing he wanted was for Helga to be homeless, but living with her was one of the most difficult things he ever did. And keeping it from his parents? Well, that was another story. COMPLETE!

After returning to Hillwood, Helga questions the moment she and Arnold had shared in San Lorenzo. While she struggles with accepting his feelings, the rest of her life crumbles beneath her.

Every doubt she'd ever had, every wall she'd ever hidden behind - they disappeared, if only for a few moments. Takes place a week after TJM: Helga has become distant with Arnold, and he has no idea why. As he's beginning to see the real Helga again, an unexpected visitor arrives in Hillwood. Mix in a car accident, memory loss and a heartbroken but determined Arnold, and things are bound to get crazy! Rated T for mild romance scenes!

When Arnold finds his parents after years lost in the jungle, his relationship with Helga changes completely.
