Hello!

Let us start with some basic information. As you can see from the little flag above, I'm from Finland and therefore do not speak English as my first language.

I will turn 21 in July

I'm currently studying chemical technology at a university, and about to finish my second year. I'm going to switch to environmental engineering in the autumn.

I discovered fanfiction through a friend of mine. When she first showed me this site, in 2006 or 2007, I was sure I would never visit ff.net myself. And I didn't, for several years.
However, sometime after DH had been published, I returned to the world of fanfiction, because I wasn't at all happy with the book. The epilogue was horrible, to tell you the truth. I will save that rant for a little later, though.
At first I only read stories that were in Finnish, but there weren't many I liked (and that has not changed), so I soon changed to English. And have been more or less hooked ever since...
I have only ever read Harry Potter fanfics, because there is no other fanon I'm familiar enough with.
I didn't start writing my own stories until last year.

Questions & Answers (HP-related)

Q: Why do you read fanfiction?
A: Simple: because I enjoy it. Fanfiction provides a great way to escape reality into a familiar, fictional world. There are so many different kinds of stories available: from crackfics to really angsty and depressing ones. Fanfics have made me happy (more often than not), sad, scared, angry, excited, disappointed, curious, surprised, amused etc. etc. I have laughed (too much), cried, hated, loved, suspected and feared.

Q: Why do you write fanfiction?
A: Because it is fun and lets me decide what happens in the characters' lives. Writing fanfiction makes me feel 'powerful'.

Q: Who are your favourite characters? Name six.
A: Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Severus Snape, Lord Voldemort, Lucius Malfoy and Hedwig.

Q: Who are your least favourite characters? Name six.
A: Ginny Weasley, Molly Weasley, Ron Weasley, James Potter I, Lily Evans (Potter) and Albus Dumbledore.

Q: What genre (Adventure, Horror, Hurt/Comfort etc.) is your favourite?
A: Anything goes, but I do love well-written humor and/or parody fics.

Q: What genre (Adventure, Horror, Hurt/Comfort etc.) is your least favorite?
A: Genres don't matter, though I have to admit I have a hard time imagining a Western HP fic. 'Ron the Cow' was brilliant, though.

Q: What is your favourite non-romantic pairing?
A: Do you really have to ask, after I have been through the entire Potions and Snitches archive?

Q: What is your favourite romantic pairing?
A: I have two favourites, both of them slash ones: Harry/Tom-Voldemort and Drarry.

Q: What is your least favourite romantic pairing?
A: The H/G ship is doomed to sink, canon or not.

Q: If you had the chance to prevent one character death in the books, who would you save?
A: Snape. I would very much like to save Voldemort, too... the Dark should have triumphed. With Harry switching sides after he found out how Dumbledore had been raising him like a pig for slaughter (like Snape so perfectly puts it).

Q: If you had to kill another character instead of the one you just prevented from dying, whose life would you end?
A: I would get rid of Ginny, no question about that.

Q: Which of the seven Harry Potter books is your favourite?
A: Tough one. Probably Goblet of Fire or Chamber of Secrets.

Q: And your least favourite?
A: Deathly Hallows!!

Q: Which of the six Harry Potter movies is your favourite?
A: Goblet of Fire.

Q: And your least favourite?
A: Half-Blood Prince.

Q: One last question: why do you hate the epilogue so much?
A: First of all, two of the pairings were more than a little obvious. The H/G one had been more or less clear ever since CoS! Besides, both Harry and Hermione, especially the former, would have deserved better. Ginny deserves no one.
Secondly: the names of Harry and Ginny's kids. Who in their right mind names their son Albus Severus, after two deceased Headmasters? Yes, they were both great wizards, in more ways than one (especially the latter), but still. James Sirius isn't much better, since the two men the boy was named after were school bullies. Lily Luna is the only one of the three kids with a proper name.
