Harry decided that the only way he can win this war with his sanity intact is to train his own way without interference. After the birth of their baby, Eragon and Arya's troubles are mostly over. But Varhog and Willow have far more to endure. Their faith and eternal love carry them through the difficult trials yet before them, allowing them to emerge triumphantly over King Kulkarvek in this moving conclusion to The Cycle Continues.

Eragon and Arya come full circle as they visit Carvahall and Ellesméra, and especially with the birth of their baby. But the blessed event is preceded and followed by unexpected conflict and heartache. King Kulkarvek grows restless with the nearness of the Dragon Riders in Carvahall, and the expectant parents face the greatest trial of their love and faith when their child is born.

Eragon and Arya travel back to Alagaёsia after learning the birth of their baby might end in tragedy. Willow and Varhog—a human female and Urgal ram who have become best friends in their time on the Isle—accompany them. As they overcome the many obstacles on their path to love, their companions begin to learn of a grave threat to the peace in Alagaёsia, the Urgal King Kulkarvek.

Their ten-year separation has affected Eragon and Arya in equally uncomfortable and exactly opposite ways. While she is constantly cold, he is always miserably hot. When Arya realizes her feelings have deepened over the years, she makes the difficult decision that will forever change her life, allowing her and Eragon to find healing and happiness.
