When Miguel returned to the Land of the Living, he expected no one to believe his story of being trapped in the Land of the Dead. Taking place shortly after helping Mama Coco remember, Miguel helps his living relatives come to terms with what happened so long ago and discovers something surprising left over from his visit to the Land of the Dead.

"Do you care about your familia... more than your music?" Hector didn't have to think twice to answer yes. But the grin on Ernesto's face sent a chill down his spine as the man continued, "Are you willing to put that to the test?"

A sudden flash of conscience from Ernesto changes Hector's life forever: By letting him have one.

(Single Parents Modern AU) Héctor Rivera, a music teacher who lives with his best friend, abruptly finds himself acting as a parental figure when his primo Enrique and Luisa are killed in a car accident. And if that wasn't enough, there are two people moving into the same apartment building. Imelda and her daughter, Coco, are starting over after the woman's husband abandoned them.

A series of one-shots. Some are expansions on scenes of the movie. Some are AUs. Some are 'extra' scenes. These could all be read on their own but I'm lazy and don't want to post just a bunch of stories.

What if it was not Miguel who went to the Land of the Dead? What if, as a young woman, it was Coco who went to the Land of the Dead? What would this mean for the Rivera family when she learns the truth about her missing father? Full summery inside.

"It means that you should prepare yourself for what might happen," said Dr. García gently. "Señora, this man is barely remembered. Whoever still holds memories of him and stopped the Final Death… it may not be enough. Perhaps he will eventually recover his strength and wake up. That would be the ideal outcome. But his condition is not promising, Señora."

A tragedy has shaken the Rivera family. Their 13-year-old child, Miguel, was taken from them too soon. It will be a while before anyone can get over his death. But how is Miguel faring in the Land of the Dead? Land of the Dead focus. SORRY! NO INSPIRATION! HIATUS!

Imelda could never forgive Héctor for being a man who cared about music more than his own family. But when she finds out the truth, and that her perception of him was false, it becomes difficult to stay angry with him.

Miguel get's hit by a car saving his baby sister's life, and goes to the Land Of The Dead far too soon. He reunites with his deceased family and prepares for his new life.

(AU: Héctor knows Ernesto killed him.) It didn't matter that the Land of the Dead knew of his crimes, or that a great-great-grandson named Miguel was slowing him down, or that he'd already spent decades trying and failing to make things right again ...alright, it mattered a lot. But Ernesto wouldn't stand for this unfair afterlife any longer. He had to find Héctor.

What if Héctor made it on that train? What if he didn't collapse in the street on the way home? He reached the station, climbed on board, and began the trip back to see his family after so long apart. But he made it not because Ernesto didn't share a final toast with him. Héctor reached the train because Ernesto didn't use enough poison to kill him immediately.

9 year old Miguel finds an old photo in the attic of none other than his great, great grandfather and Ernesto De la Cruz! He puts it up on his shrine to Ernesto and at the next Dia de los Muertos Héctor is shocked to find that he can finally cross the marigold bridge.

Ernesto have always hated children. But, of all of the obnoxious tiny devils in the world, Ernesto hasn't hated any child more than Hector's darling, little Coco.

Miguel isn't sure if Héctor survived the Final Death, but Héctor wants to make sure he knows…despite the risks of getting stuck in the Land of the Living after sunrise.

"Oh, mijo," said Papa Héctor. "I'll be here every year. As long as you remember me. And if you make sure someone else remembers me, I'll still be waiting for you in 200 years when you die." The younger Rivera took no amusement from the joke this time, thinking, "What if I don't want to wait that long to see you again?"

We all know know what happened in the Land of the Dead and we know how things were one year later, but we really don't know what happened in between that time. What happened when Coco died? How did the truth about Ernesto come out? How did Miguel deal with everyday life after almost dying? This story will try to answer those questions as best as I can. I hope you like it.

Imelda saw an awkward, skinny boy gawking at her in the market one day. He looked at her like she had three heads. She couldn't help but wonder what his problem was. Héctor saw the woman of his dreams in the market one day. He had to talk to her, get to know her. If only he could stop himself from looking like a fool whenever he tried.

When an accident rips Miguel from the land of the living much to early, he finds himself in the Land of the Dead, this time for good. Through a series of unfortunate mix ups (and some purposeful meddling from every ones favorite disgraced musician), Miguel finds himself alone and wondering why his family never came for him. But for a boy like Miguel, the world is his family. And so

Ninety six years is a long time to hold a grudge. Imelda carried her anger into the after-life and never thought she'd let go. He left her alone. He made her raise her daughter on her own. And worst of all, he forced Coco to grow up without her beloved Papa. No matter how much he begged, no matter what his excuse was, she would never forgive him.

In 1931, Ernesto de la Cruz makes his screen debut, and while most of Santa Cecilia is impressed with their homegrown hero, Imelda and Coco notice only one thing on the poster: A guitar they both remember well.

Héctor confronts Ernesto about the stolen songs. Something of a sequel to my previous 'Coco' fanfiction - 'the sound of thievery'. Also includes Héctor meeting Cheech for the first time. Things didn't quite end that day at the end of Dias De Los Muertos. It carried on much longer than any of them expected. The Rivera's now have to deal with a boy who has a special gift and learning more about him and the strange supernatural world around them. Miguel isn't sure where he'll go now but at least he knows he has his family to guide him through life - and the afterlife.

After Ernesto leaves him in the middle of the street, Héctor is found by an elderly woman, who brings him to her home. There, he dictates a final letter to his girls, letting them know what truly happened to him. One-Shot, AUish, Spoilers

Fathers are supposed to be there for their children, but Coco's papá had never come home. A series of events in Coco's life that Héctor missed, and moments when they missed each other.

After the joy of reuniting with her family, Coco slowly comes to terms with realising just how young her papá was when he died.

In the years following Miguel's visit to the Land of the Dead, Día de Muertos was very different for one shabby skeleton.

"T-this is your husband Señora?" Finally, a glimmer of hope! "Sí! Sí! Sí!" Imelda burst out, clutching the photo close, "Have you seen him? He might have been with- "She stopped in her tracks, finally noticing the devastated look in the man's eyes. "…Where is my husband?"

When Héctor finds himself fading away, he holds onto the one thing that matters… family. An exploration of the tentatively re-joined Rivera family, and how Héctor and Imelda begin to reconcile after so much time.

They knew Héctor would hit a low eventually, but they didn't realize he'd come crashing down as hard as he did. Chicharrón decided he might as well be the one to pick up the pieces, since no one else was going to.

After 96 years, it's about time Papá Héctor came home.

Miguel tried to remind Mamá Coco. He tried to remind her of who she had forgotten. And in the end, a lullaby from her childhood managed to spark her memory. But it was too late. She had forgotten for a moment too long. And Héctor was already gone. But Miguel promised that he would see Coco. He promised.

It had been a long time since he sang this lullaby. Especially after hearing how it had been twisted and misused. The song had been butchered enough for a lifetime. But perhaps he could sing it the way he intended it to be. He could sing it for his Coco one more time.
