1 morning, Clifford was talking his usual walk down the street when he ran into Cleo.

"Good morning, Cleo." said Clifford.

"Oh, hiya, Clifford." replied Cleo, "What are you doing?"

"Oh, I'm just taking a walk around the neighborhood, seeing how the whole island's doing." said Clifford.

"It must be great, huh?" asked Cleo.

" What must be great?" asked Clifford.

"Being that big and being able to see the whole island." said Cleo.

"Uh, Cleo, it's not as easy as it looks." said Clifford, "I have to be careful not to break other people's things and I have to watch out for high things, so I don't hurt myself."

They then looked at each other, a little surprised. Then, Cleo had an idea.

"You know," said Cleo, "I walked by an antique shop a few minutes ago. The manager said he had a pair of magic shoes."

"Magic shoes?" asked Clifford.

"Yeah." said Cleo, "He said that it's the only pairs of shoes in the world that can swap the minds of any 2 individuals. Let's give it a try."

"Uh, I don't know." said Clifford, "Are you sure he said all that exactly?"

"Have I ever steered you wrong?" asked Cleo.

"Well..." said Clifford.

"Don't answer that." said Cleo. "Let's just go to the antique shop."

"Okay." said Clifford.

And with that, they both went to the antique shop. Later, at the antique shop, the manager was almost done polishing an old sword when he heard Clifford and Cleo knock on the front window and bark. The manager opened the door and smiled.

"Well, hello, Clifford and Cleo." said the manager, "What are you doing here?"

Clifford and Cleo both barked and pointed to the magic shoes in the window at the same time.

"The shoes?' asked the manager.

Clifford and Cleo both nodded at the same time.

"Uh..." said the manager, "You don't want to chew them up, do you?"

Clifford and Cleo both shook their heads no at the same time. Then, the manager realized what might be going on.

"Oh, you just want to borrow them for the day?" asked the manager.

Clifford and Cleo barked in happiness and slightly jumped up for joy.

"Ho-Ho-Okay." laughed the manager. "I'm fine with that. Let me just go get them for you."

The manager walked into the store, grabbed the shoes and came back out with them.

"Here you go." said the manager, "But be careful with them. They possess a great power."

Clifford and Cleo both barked in agreement at the same time. Then, the manager handed Cleo the shoes.

"See you this afternoon." said the manager.

Clifford and Cleo both waved goodbye as the manager walked back into the store. Then, Clifford and Cleo looked down at the shoes.

"So...how, exactly, do these things work?" asked Clifford.

"I don't know." said Cleo.

But then, they turned the shoes over and saw some writing on the bottoms of them.

"Hey, there's some reading at the bottom of each shoe!" said Clifford.

"Well, I'll read the left right." said Cleo, "It says, "To activate the...switcheroo affect of these shoes, 1 individual must wear them while the other individual stands straight. Then, the 2 individuals must put their hands together and say this rhyme at the same time..."

They both read the rhyme and immediately understand them.

"I'll wear the shoes." said Cleo.

"And I'll stand still." said Clifford.

Cleo slipped the shoes onto her back feet and Clifford put himself straight.

"Are you ready?" asked Cleo excitedly.

"Uh-huh." said Clifford nervously.

They both carefully stood up and put their "Hands" together.

"I would like to see a prize, reflected in another's eyes. Let's switch bodies with each other, now 1 thinks they're the other." they both said at the same time.

Then, they both closed their eyes. Suddenly, they could hear a voice singing, "A boom boom sucka me belung beeiiii". After that, their spirits came out and went into each other's bodies. When they woke up, they were a little surprised. The switch worked! Cleo was now in Clifford's huge male body, and Clifford now occupied the beautiful, eyelash-less body of his friend, Cleo.

"Wow, Cleo, it worked!" said Clifford in Cleo's body, with his own voice.

"Yeah, Clifford!" said Cleo in Clifford's body, with her own voice, "You're in my body and I'm in your body."

They both stared at each other for a minute. It was a little weird to hear each other's voices coming out of each other's bodies, but at least people could tell who was who if they became desperate.

"I'm a girl!" said Clifford in Cleo's body, "I've got boobs!"

Later, they were both walking next to a fence together.

"Right." said Clifford in Cleo's body.

"Now, remember what I told you about being a girl?" asked Cleo in Clifford's body.

And with that, they went their separate ways to live each other's lives for the whole day. Cleo kind of liked being in Clifford's boy body. "Oh." said Clifford in Cleo's body, with his hand on his stomach, "Well, you helped me find the shoe, so I'll clean up."

"See, Cleo?" asked Clifford in Cleo's body, "Being big's not so easy, is it?"

"Great!" said Clifford in Cleo's body, "I'll just put on the other shoe."
