When I was young, I read all the fairy tales I could get my hands on and then some.

Later, I moved on to Greek mythology, and I still know most of the common stories back to front and sideways.

Later still, I moved on to fantasy books, with a few sci-fi: David Eddings, Terry Pratchett, Tamora Pierce, John Wyndham (Day of the Triffids), Kate Forsyth (Eileannan), Katherine Kerr (Deverry), Piers Anthony, Forgotten Realms... you get the idea.

As for my details, I'm 22 and a New Zealander.

So far, I haven't published much in the way of stories on here. Hopefully this will change, but probably not any time soon. The ones I do have up are not particularly good, being several years old, so feel free to laugh at them if you think they deserve it.

- The Fairy Godmother's Mistake is a more plausible ending to Cinderella. (True fairy tales are always far too convenient to happen in real life). I have now deleted the last two chapters, on the grounds of them being embarrassingly bad.

- The Hunting of Orion is a retelling of the story of Orion and the Pleiades, one of the many stories about the constellations, but one of the lesser-known of the Greek myths. It's now pretty much defunct, as I've lost all interest in it.

-The Swan's Egg is a bit of an experiment, and I don't think it worked very well. Feel welcome to criticise/praise it as the mood takes you.

-Tales of Long Ago - well, it's the best title I could come up with on the spur of the moment. It's a slightly different take on a range of fairy tales, along the same lines as TFGM, but shorter. This one should probably be regarded as defunct, as well.
