I found The Magnificent Seven and Fanfiction while researching post-Civil War costumes for spinning and weaving demonstrations...and I was hooked! Magnificent Seven reruns are shown on Saturday mornings on the Western Channel on cable. The first season just began again a few wekends ago. I can understand the award for costuming!

I spent the greater part of my life writing; I was the only child in my second grade class to keep a journal - and that's what I called it - and continued writing since that time. Life is difficult enough; my Mag 7 stories have happy endings. I try to keep the characters "pure," but eye witness accounts differ greatly because we all have different eyes...and hearts.

This will probably get me into trouble, but I feel many people take the Mag 7 too seriously! This is fiction. We can do what we like with them! Bend the characters a little, give them a chance to overreact, have some fun at their expense.

My heroines tend to be physically similar, just their ages and backgrounds differ. That's because they're based on someone very close to me. I suppose it's one way to help cope with her loss.
