I have been a 'fandom lurker' for several years, reading fan fiction in phases of varying lengths for Sherlock, Star Trek, Avengers, XMFC, Daredevil, and Harry Potter. My new obsession is Supernatural. In 4 months, I have binged the entire show and fallen in love with the fan community.
