![]() Author has written 2 stories for Devil May Cry, and Bleach. Name: Archimedes the Third. Call me Arch. Age: Old enough to know I am still young. About my stories: The Morning After One year after Vergil tried to resurrect the demon world, Dante is feeling a little down. After he gets a surprise phone call from Lady, they agree to go out together and unwind a bit over at Bobby's Cellar. A DantexLady story, where they go out for drinks and get a little more than they bargained for. It's a drama centric story with a little comedy sprinkled throughout. All of the chapters I produce seem kind of angsty so I wind up deleting them soon after I write them, I'm putting this story on hold for now. Crownless Time Travel Fic! After years of a war the world is near destruction. Doing the only thing he could think of at the time, Urahara presents the survivors with a solution. Eventual IchiRuki; HitsuHina and others. A group of unlikely heroes are sent back through time in a last ditch attempt to circumvent the destruction of the spiritual world. Rukia is the main character of this one, though the story does circle around POVs often. I'm in the process of re-rewriting it. A side note about this story: Ichigo WILL be making an appearance later down the line. A lot of people seem to think that Ichigo won't actually appear at all and that is just absurd. He is not immediately introduced because, at the beginning of the story, he is non-essential to the advancement of the plot. This is, after all, an IchiRuki story first and foremost. For the love of all that is holy, people, please stop writing bash fics. They are truly the bane of good fanfiction, and frankly, I use the term "good" rather loosely here. Seriously, what do bashing fics accomplish? I admit, when the bashing stories first emerged they were reasonably funny some of the time, but that was about five years ago. Now, all I see are people copying everyone else, circulating all the same stale humorless junk around the fandom. Really, guys, if you can't write a story about a set group of characters without bastardizing them so badly as so you can justify making them hate-able, and thereby, bash-able, then maybe writing just isn't for you. Or maybe I'm just picky like that. . . Another serious pet peeve of mine is harem fics. The only thing I dislike more than a bash fic is a harem fic. They are never, ever, even slightly good. Ever. Not one of them. And yes I have read a lot of them. Even the extremely popular ones, with thousands of reviews under their belt. Every last one of them are bad. They make no sense. The main character suddenly gets super powerful from somewhere and so naturally all of the women in the world are attracted to him now. I've seen countless attempts to rationalize this behavior, and every time all it seems to accomplish is make either the main character seem like a womanizing douche bag, or the woman as extremely shallow bandwagon hoppers. And really, how else can a story like this unfold? Maybe I am being too harsh in my thinking. It is only fan fiction after all, but whenever I see something like this unfold unexpectedly in a story I was reading, all of my desire to continue reading disappears and I commit the author's name to memory just so that I know better than to ever read anything from them again. But what can I do, really? Rant on my profile. C'est la vie. |
