Hello!

I want to thank you all for supporting my story "Fractured Recall". It brings me so much pleasure to see so many of you are having as much fun reading as much as I am enjoying writing this. I am a huge fan of BatB and sincerely devastated of its cancellation. I am hoping for a miracle that the ratings are so good for S4 that they pick it up again...but even if it does go away I plan to continue on with this story until I get to the very end.

I am also tickled to see you asking me to update soon. As much as I would love to add a new edition each week, sometimes finding time to sit down and write uninterrupted is not as often as I would like. A lot of my writing time happens during my work downtime, and in between playing mom to a teenage daughter and 3 dogs...well time is at a minimum.

The inspiration for this story came from two places - 1. When I first discovered BatB on a 9 hour trip from Sacramento, CA to LA, I was instantly reminded of one of my MPRPG characters Fiona who is a former soldier that was expirmented on by a government sub-contracter and becomes a Werecat when triggered by emotions/rage. Her love interest is an Inuit Wendigo character whose family is cursed by the Inuit Goddess Sedna who lost a lover to one of the Faulks ancestors. After a while I started wondering what would happen if I combined the two stories...and the result was this. I altered Fio's backstory by making her a Muirfield recruit and placed Alex in the story as a love interest. But as not to be predictable, or give away spoilers, there are a few twists coming up before the past becomes part of the future.

2. I have always wished they would have given more story devoted to Vincent's Army days - What did he do? Who did he hang out with? That gap in the storyline created an opportunity for me to play with. Clearly, he wold have been the most desired male in the US Army, and at one point thought of making Fio an old girlfriend, but it just didn't feel right. So, I made her his "Army JT" and that was when I decided to bring Alex in. Even though Fio liked what she saw in Vincent, it was the tall, dark and Inuit one that caught her eye.

So again...thank you for hanging in there with me. I'm cranking out Chapter 5 as quickly as time will allow.
