![]() Author has written 3 stories for Kung Fu Panda. So... welcome to my page. I'm not a fan of giving out summaries of my life, so you'll have to make due with an abridged version... and by abridged I mean a short list of various facts. I've wrestled since 2nd grade, although I haven't participated in this sport much in high school due to the rigor of my classes (and perhaps a disinclination towards the competitive aspect of it). I'm currently taking AP English, so I suppose I'm not an entirely incompetent writer. I have a love of science, and am often considered a strongly left-brained individual by my friends. Along those lines, I also love science fiction, although not as heavily as science itself. I know a very limited amount of martial arts, coming from a range of styles (obviously wrestling, both folkstyle and greco-roman, some Mok-gar kung fu, a bit of Wing Chun, some Karate, some Tae Kwon Do, some Muay Thai, some Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, etc; consider me a jack of all trades...) When I say some, I mean very little. I've never attended any classes. I simply know how to see someone do something, and then copy their movements (a skill I took from years of wrestling...). I have been playing the Trumpet since sixth grade, as well as have a taste for that vein of music. By the way, I sincerely apologize for the proliferation of "I"s in this paragraph... Also, anyone that knows me will tell you that I love tea. Not the cheap bagged stuff, although I do drink bagged, but loose leaf: the good stuff. My favorite tea (so far) is West Lake Lung Ching, rendered "Dragon's Well" in English. Bai Mu Tan (white peony) is a close second, though. I have a strong interest in Biology, both micro and macroscopic. I used to lean strongly towards the microscopic, although I find myself drifting ever closer to the macroscopic, particularly zoology and conservation biology. On a somewhat similar note, my favorite animal is, and always has been, a tiger. I have a love of all big cats, but my interest falls particularly on tigers. Favorite Movies/T.V. Shows, both animated, physical, etc (both actual favorites and nostalgic favorites): Kung Fu Panda Kung Fu Panda 2 Lion King Lion King 2: Simba's Pride Avatar Avatar: The Last Airbender The Last Samurai The Forbidden Kingdom Planet Earth Life Favorite Books: The Bible Pride and Prejudice the Lonesome Dove series The Inheritence Cycle (Eragon, Eldest, etc) The Winning of America series (the Frontiersman, etc; all of these are historical narratives, something between nonfiction and fiction) Dune (although not necessarily all books in the Dune series) I'm sure there are more, I just can't remember them... Some Quotes (from all sources, from movies to books, generals to the bible, and everything in between): "You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created." -Revelation 4:11 "And the spirit and the bride keep on saying: 'Come!' And let anyone hearing say: 'Come!" And let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take life's water free." -Revelation 22:17 "I am Jehovah. That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images." -Isaiah 42:8 "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it." -Psalms 37:29 "So he humbled you and let you go hungry and fed you with the manna, which neither you had known nor your fathers had known; in order to make you know that not by bread alone does man live but by every expression of Jehovah's mouth does man live." -Deuteronomy 8:3 "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present." -Oogway in Kung Fu Panda "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." -Jane Austen in Pride and Prejudice "If we take the generally accepted definition of bravery as a quality which knows no fear, I have never seen a brave man. All men are frightened. The more intelligent they are, the more they are frightened." -General George S. Patton "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." -Sun Tzu "It seems that fighting is a game where everyone is the loser." -Zora Neale Hurston Favorite Songs: Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony Birdland by Maynard Ferguson La Fiesta by Maynard Ferguson Hymn of the Orient by Clifford Brown A Mis Abuelos by Arturo Sandeval Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky The entire Kung Fu Panda 2 soundtrack Red Clay by Freddie Hubbard Claire de Lune by Claude Debussy Arbasque No. 1 by Claude Debussy Nocturne No. 9 by Frederick Chopin Stella by Starlight by Chet Baker Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione Land of Make Believe by Chuck Mangione Children of Sanchez by Chuck Mangione Same 'Auld Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg The Gambler by Kenny Rogers Walk the Line by Johnny Cash Against All Odds by Phil Collins |
