Hi, people! I am a college student who has too much time on her breaks: I haunted fanfiction.net last summer between jobs, didn't so much as look at the site all fall, and now that I'm on Thanksgiving Break, I'm on again! I am a serious L.M. Montgomery reader, having just about all of her books memorized; the Anne books and The Golden Road are my definite favorites. I am a hard-core purist, the annoying kind of person who constantly feels the need while watching movies based on books to say indignantly, "That's not what happened in the book!" I must tell you that I do not like the Anne movies. Well, the first one is okay, but the second distorts Anne Shirley, Gilbert Blythe, & Co. completely, and don't even get me started on the third movie, which is pure sacrilege to L.M. Montgomery. So I primarily started spending time on this site to read the Lucy Maud Montgomery fanfiction, but I am and have always been a hopeless bookworm and so have read much more on here than those by Montgomery. Jane Austen is one of my very favorite authors. I also love reading biographies and historical fiction. At the moment, I simply want to have the right to review the works of others; I'd love to attempt fanfiction, but I don't have time right now and see no time for it in the near future. Meanwhile, write on! |
