Author has written 2 stories for Emergency. I think I was born to be a writer. One of these days I would love to actually publish a real book, and a pipe dream of mine is to get to write an episode for a television show that I am a fan of. Or to be able to talk to a writer of a series that I am a fan of and just banter out a good scene that I as a fan would love to see. But I guess fanfiction will have to suffice. I adore writing the sort of stories that could be enjoyed by an entire family, and I prefer a simple style that flows easily and is gentle and light hearted. I am in the process of posting my first fanfiction on here, and hope there will be many to follow this first. I am a fan of a lot of TV shows. Some of my favorites are Star Trek Voyager, Ghost whisperers, Smallville, Bonanza, Emergency, Magnum PI, Buffy the vampire slayer, Murder she wrote, and a lot of others that are both old and new and not CIS clones (which are far too numerous if you ask me). I don't do fanfiction for all of these shows though. For now I am on a role with Emergency! I recently bought 3 of the seven seasons and have been watching them avidly and from that have gotten inspiration to do some writing. What I am working on at the moment is called Jokester. My muse was working one day while I was looking around for something fun to read. As usual I kept coming across the sort of stories where Johnny's family are non-existant, or other stories where his childhood had been full of misery and abuse. So I thought, I cant find what I want to read, I will write my own happy story where Johnny has a happy sister and they both had a happy childhood full of saturday morning pancakes and cartoons and homebaked cookies, barefooted summers, cherry popsicles and back porch talks with chirruping crickets. My thoughts about TV: I think a lot of the television programs on now go way over the top in the department of emotional drama. I swear its like you look at a show and someone spills a freaking bag of popcorn and you end up with about 3/4 of the major characters all angsting over it as if its the end of the flipping world. Its dumb. And the jerky motions of the camera on some shows makes my stomach turn. Imagine that, the autopsy scenes in CIS don't much faze me, but the motion of a camera makes me quit watching a show due to motion sickness! LOL! So, I looked at these shows from the old days like Star Trek and Emergency. Some of it really is laughable, corny, way too theatrical and some of the actors are so bad they make me cringe. YET, those old shows from days long gone by have something about them--like charm. And I think wow, some of these people are dead and gone now, but the characters they portrayed on film will live on forever for generations to come. And these shows are still very viable today and better than some of the new garabage that's ending up on the air. I bet you there will be people watching shows like Emergency and Bonanza and Star Trek fifty years from now, while the majority of the shows that are on now will end up in a graveyard. Okay so don't ask me what the point was in all that. I don't know. I just like to ramble. Let's just say, "Long Live TVland!" and "Long Live Fanfiction.net" |
