![]() Author has written 3 stories for Song of the Lioness. Okay, I know, I know. I vanished for 3 years. Entirely unintentional but it happened. I am sort of back now but the truth is I've been out of the Tamora Pierce fanfiction world for at least 2 years, so it's hard to get back into the mind frameI was in all that time ago. I still have my plans for Whithered (although I really should get rid of the spelling mistake in the title) and have good intentions towards working on it again and possibly revising it, but don't hold out too much hope for anything too soon. Whist I'm happily reading away my study leave, I am actually supposed to be revising if I have any hopes of passing my exams. ; This is mainly just to let those people who are (amazingly) still interested in my writing know I'm alive and a thank you to those who have continued to review despite the fact I haven't been updating. I was truly surprised to find a review sitting in my inbox a few days ago and it proved to be the final promt needed to get me logged in to my account for the first time in who knows how long. All I can say now is that I hope my prolonged absence has allowed me to become more eloquent than I used to be. A lot can change in three years so I feel a need to correct what my profile used to say. I will concentrate first on Withered but for a long time now I have a had a plot bunny of theHarry Potter kindthat won't leave me be, so it's possible I may start trying to articulate it. There's also the slight problem of my addiction to reading completed novel length fics which takes up a considerable amount of time. My favorite authors have also changed. I still love Tamora Pierce ( still haven't been able to read Trickster's Queen though glares), Pullman, Tolkien and Eion Colfer. Atemis Fowl is too amusing to give up. New favorites are Ann Rice's vampire chronicles, Oscar Wilde, although I'll admit I've only read Dorian Grey, Garth Nix, Louis de Bernieres and Arthur Miller. I still like Victoria Hanley, Meg Cabot and L.J Smith, but can't call them favorites. J.K Rowling is not so much a favorite as an addiction. I far prefer what some of her fanfiction writers do with her characters, but theres just something about the books themselves that is pure addictive genius. What I like to read, in the way of fanfiction, has also changed slightly. I stated before that I had an addiction to Harry/Draco slash. This has only got worse. I have now expanded into Harry/Severus, Harry/Lucius, Harry/ aWeasley male, but not Ron as I find it a little weird,Snape as a mentor, Voldemort as a mentor - therfore either Dark Harry or Evil Dumbledore. I have been brainwashed by remarkably brilliant slash authors into the belief that Harry and Draco belong together and that is that. In regards to Tamora Pierce, I still love Kel/Joren, Kel/Dom, possibly, rarely, Kel/Neil, Daine/Numair, Alanna/George etc. I just can't imagine the couples in a different relationships. Other stuff I like is a bit more random. Another chronic addiction of mine is Lost, but as I live in the bloody UK I've olny seen up to episode 6 of the second series. I love Black Books, Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey, The Mighty Boosh, LOTR, Brokeback Mountain -sob-, RENT even though I've yet to see the film (stupid UK again), although some lovely person on youtube put almost the whole film up,and plenty of other things I can't think of right now. I'll listen to pretty much anything but things at the top of the CD pile at the moment are Bon Jovi, Shakira, the RENT soundtrack (OB not film), HIM and too many more to name. If you have actually managed to get through all that with your eyes open I will reward you with a fewof my favorite quotes, which can also be classified as insane babble. Dylan Moran siging drunkenly- I'm a simple cow, living a simple life, but sometimes i feel exploited, Ireland will never be free until, I can marry my brother. - Black Books series one outtakes. "People try to put me in a box, but I break free" "Who's trying to put you in a box?" "Well, people, you know. The Man." "Have you contacted the police about this?" "No, The Man. You know what I'm talking about yeah. People are always putting people inboxes" "Well no one's trying to put you in a box. You're the wrong size for a start."- The Mighty Boosh, Hitcher. "Yes! Yes! Yes! I control Sandwich Monkey! I live in Magicland, Magicland" - Dylan Moran, Monster. xxxIlizzexxx (also known as Lady Fire eyes) |
