Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.

Generalized Announcement: I live in the outer strike zone of Hurricane Katrina--we got off relatively well compared to those in other states, but we still had downed trees in the yard among other problems including 3 days without power. So to everyone who lived in New Orleans, in Louisiana, in Mississippi, you're in my thoughts and prayers, and may :insert deity of choice: bless you and look after you and yours. (Needless to say, this means that updates will be a while in coming.)

I’d like, if I may, to tell you a bit about me in starting this fan-fic; so that I can differentiate myself from other folks. My name is Nicole, I’m a workaholic. (Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was cliché; get over it.) I have a really big mouth with a tendency to get me in trouble. Ever since I started pointing out my second-grade teachers’ misspellings when they’d write on the board, keeping my mouth shut has been something at which I’ve had to work hard. Now I just apply my big mouth to quips and wisecracks that tend to make people angry. (I tend to imagine that's what Severus Snape was like as a lad: he just couldn't keep his sarcasm to himself.)

I’m a 21-year-old college student at Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, the “Jesuit College of The South” (a pretentious self-applied moniker that Loyola-New Orleans probably takes issue with). I am finally getting around to the point where I like Spring Hill. After being forced into attending by my parents (whom I still haven’t let hear the end of it), I had a thoroughly bad attitude about being there; seeing as it is in my hometown, I wanted to leave as soon as possible. It’s not half-bad now, though; I’ve since learned to appreciate the institution for its humorous qualities and its educational lessons (and the fact that I would never have met my boyfriend of almost a year without attending it). It’s no Harvard, true, but that by no means indicates that I can't make it difficult on myself by getting overinvolved. Which I do quite frequently.

Currently, I am a notary public for the State of Alabama at large. (not normally something to squeal and be giddy about, but if I were normal, I'd be horrifically boring, and I'd like to think I'm not.) My ultimate goal is to become an attorney, which is why I'd like to take the time to say that any and all characters contained herein, with the exception of the ones of my own creation, are the intellectual property of Jo Rowling. Any resemblance to other persons besides Rowling's characters, real or imagined, is completely unintentional.

Happy reading! If you've read this far in my lengthy treatise on self, then, wow. I'm impressed. Perhaps you'd like to read and review my fic? :bats eyelashes suggestively: I think I'm the only person whose Snape fic was given a kick-start by Half-Blood Prince, as opposed to falling into a post-HBP slump. The outside canon characters in The Cursed Staff has been under development on my hard drive for almost three sporadically- visited years, ever since OotP, and Half-Blood Prince gave me what I needed to give them depth. (OC's in "Cursed Staff" are Japanese, FYI; so if you are legitimately Japanese and notice a blaring error, feel free to correct me.) Just by way of warning, among my favorite influences are David Mamet, Charlie Kaufman, Jack Kerouac, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Beatrice and Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing are my idea of the ideal relationship (yes, I know, fierce loathing turning to blind adoration at a fingersnap isn't exactly what most call a functional relationship; but it's the "bickering-with-chemistry" to which I refer) so I tend to go a bit spare on the emotional romance side. Feel free to excoriate me for it with an IM to HowlStarryDynamo (yes, I like the Beat movement!); everyone needs a good excoriation now and then.

Nitwit, blubber, oddment, and tweak,

Nicole

P.S. Victoria Sangrecordia is a character who's also been knocking around on my hard-drive but who will probably never make it past the one-shot phase.

Canonshafted by HBP & DH, but still very IC. When a N.E.W.T. Potions field trip goes badly wrong, a chain of events is set in motion that may cost Snape more than his life, and a student more than her heart. Angst/dark romance. SS/OC of-age student.
