Author has written 1 story for Mega Man. Hello. My name is Corialos. Call me Cori. Formerly known on fanfiction.net as ReaperofNameless. Here, have a seat. Can I get you anything? No? Well, suit yourself. You're probably wondering why you're here, right? Well, to tell you that story, I first have to begin with my own. When I was thirteen years of age, I joined fanfiction.net as an exercise in writing. I had adolescent dreams of someday being a famous novelist, and thought that the website persona would be a means of testing my skills. I still think that. But one day, I just...stopped writing. The words that used to come forth weren't coming to me anymore. Later on, I became despondent. I used to be so full of creativity, so ready to use my words and build whole new worlds forged with just a bit of brainpower and a little help from outside sources who gave me some huge universes to play around with like my own personal sandboxes. Where had that light gone? Then, I recently took a look at some of my old work, and I realized I was looking through rose-tinted nostalgia goggles. I seethed. "I wrote this crap?" Of course, that's the thought of every self-respecting writer; all of your old work is going to look bad to present you. Oh, sorry, am I boring you? Don't worry, I'm getting to my point. Want some soda? Here you go. But as I read through some of the newer entries, I saw...hope. Potential. And then I read the reviews. I had reviews! There are people, real live people who liked my work. I cursed my past self--I could do better than this. But there was still so much to work with--so much potential. I decided that I couldn't on good conscience let this work die. So I decided I would return to writing, abandon the name of Reaper and forge myself anew. Hell, who knows? Maybe while working I'll get the inspiration to actually begin and finish that novel I talked about all those years ago. So that's where you come in. I need your help. Part of my problem isn't a lack of inspiration, or drive, not really. It's a lack of motivation. I need someone who will be willing to look through my work--not even to enjoy it, but simply read it, and give me feedback. I don't need ego-stroking, but merely the knowledge that someone took the time to peruse its content. In return, I offer you not only a revised--rewritten, actually--version of my old stories, but also a plethora of new content awaiting once I am finished with those works. I offer you the chance to enter a world like no other, for even though I use the universes of other creators, the worlds and populations of those who inhabit are of my design. I offer you the chance to enter worlds like which you have never seen before. So please, put down that story, and fasten those belts on that chair around your arms. We're going for a ride. Disclaimer Section In order to cover myself legally, I will follow my brethren on fanfiction.net and place disclaimers here as well as at the beginning of every chapter. For my personal convenience of myself and others, I will place a complete list of works and studios here to whom I owe a debt for the use of their settings and characters for creative purposes. I do not own nor have I had any original part in the creation of the following properties: Mega Man, and its related series, is the creative property of Capcom and its subsidiaries. It is by no means owned by me. FLCL is similarly owned by Gainax. It does not belong to me in any way, shape or form. I thank the above creators for the use of their work, and I will continue updating this Disclaimer Section as the need requires. Finished Stories: None yet. Will update this list when that changes. Stories in Progress: Chronicles of Demeter: The Blue Savior (A revision of "Demeter, Chronicles of the Sixth Warrior," a Mega Man fanfic) Lost Memories (A revision of "The Return of Lost Memories," an FLCL fanfic) Planned Future Stories: M.G. (A novelization of the original MSX Metal Gear game) Will update this list when I get more ideas. Author's Notes and General Announcements: (4/12/13) So I'm going to begin reading my old fics and hopefully get some initial drafts tonight. Should have something posted by Sunday, April 14th. Look forward to new content on that day. (4/14/13) Okay, first couple of chapters for Chronicles of Demeter are up now. I've begun work on Chapter 3, as well as the first chapter of Lost Memories I should hopefully have some more ready by sometime this week. I'm gonna say Thursday, but that's by no means final. (5/20/13) So quick update on what's going on. I'm about to graduate from high school, and my finals are tomorrow. This week I will be going on a trip with my school before graduation. I am currently working on Chapter III of Demeter, titled "The Chance Meeting." I'm about a third of the way through it. I don't know when I will be done, but I promise that am in fact working on it. Perhaps I'll write some more while on the trip. As for Lost Memories, I've decided to postpone that project until I at least finish Demeter, as I feel the main reason why these two fics failed the first time around was because I tried to divide my attention between the two of them, and eventually lost interest. So my condolences to those who were looking forward to its debut, but you'll just have to wait a bit longer. You can take some solace in the fact that I DO plan on getting it done, though. Anyway, that's it for this Author's Note. Will post another announcement when one becomes relevant. |
