![]() Author has written 1 story for Chronicles of Narnia. The cave was white and warm. That was the first thing the girl noticed, the gentle warmth trickling over her was enough to block the confusion of how and where she got here. She liked it here. She began walking around the cave. As she reached the center the feeling of confusion quickly returned. A ukulele lay on the floor with four objects surrounding it. Gleaming in the soft light lay a black comb with a lion carving, a blue and black rose pendant on a chain, a red fox necklace, and a black pen. The girl didn’t understand what these items meant, to her they had no clear meaning but the ukulele on the other hand… She grabbed it and began strumming, the tuned a little and stummed some more. Rocking back and forth she felt a familiar tune grab a hold of. After the Dm, the G, and then the C she began to sing. I'm lying on the moon My dear, I'll be there soon It's a quiet and starry place Time's we're swallowed up In space we're here a million miles away Out of nowhere a girl appeared where the comb was. She had lightly tanned skin, long dark brown hair, and shocking green eyes. The two girls looked at each other. They didn’t say a word but something inside of them that made them feel like they had met before. Never stopping they plunged into the next verse. There’s things I wish I knew There’s no thing I’d keep from you It’s a dark and shiny place But with you my dear I’m safe and we’re million miles away At the last line another girl joined in. She sat where the rose had once been. She look at the two others with cautious eyes for a few seconds. She furled her brow in confusion for a heartbeat and then relaxed. The defencive look in her brown eyes vanished. Something about this place and these girls allowed her to let down her self made walls for a moment. She had light brown skin and just as dark that fell down her back in a jumble of knotted curls. We’re lying on the moon It’s a perfect afternoon The final girl appeared at the fox necklace. She swayed back and forth with her eyes closed, her braided black hair swishing. She was pale and looked like she had been crying. It’s wasn’t until she open her blue eyes and sang with a strong clear voice, that you could really hear her pain. Your shadow follows me all day Making sure that I’m okay and We’re a million miles away They stopped singing to look at each other. “What just happened?” asked the fox. “I think we found each other,” the girl with the ukulele replied nervously. “Now what?” said the lion. “We go on,” stated the rose, “that is our only option. We are in a scene somehow connected. So we must live on knowing this fact.” “Alone,” whispered the fox. “No, not alone,” the ukulele girl looked up at the very different girls who sat around her. “I think if we have one thing in common it’s the fact that we all know what it is like to feel alone. We will never be alone. We will always be a part of each other.” “Three met to be one,” murmured the rose. “Or in our case four parts of the whole.” “Yes,” breathed the lion. “Four parts of a whole that will never be to far away from the other.” They sat in silence of a while, enjoying the feeling of belonging that they normally never felt in their normal life. Then softly they each picked up the token that had registered as their own. With a gentle pop they vanished out of that warm cave. The Lion….. Angelica felt herself slowly drift back into conscious. The rocking of the Dawn Treader was soothing as she walk up to the mirror that hung in her cabin. She examined her reflection for a while. They will never be to far away. She thought as she turned to look at the intricate carving on the wall. “Thank you Aslan for letting me find them,” she whispered into the silence. The Rose… Vanessa normally hated her dreams. They were usually nightmares that would remind her that safe wasn’t safe enough. This dream though, this one had given her a feeling of peace that she hadn’t had in a long time. “J.A.R.V.I.S, what time is it?” “It is currently 9 Miss. Stark,” “9?” She wondered out loud. Normally she wake up in fear but now… She grabbed her phone off her nightstand. Peter had texted her in hope of checking out that new bookstore that had open up. She smiled down at the string of smiley faces he had sent with it. She was happy and at peace, and that was perfect for Vanessa. The Fox... Elisa rolled over and swinted at the bright light streaming into the dorm. Shock flooded her body, it was morning and she hadn’t woken up once. That never happened. She sat up and looked around the room she shared with her fellow Gryffindors, it was empty. “Where is everyone?” she wondered aloud. “At breakfast,” Hermione replied not looking up from her book. “You were actually sleeping so I couldn’t wake you. It’s just you were so peaceful that I didn’t have the heart to do it.” “Thanks Hermione,” Elisa smiled. As she headed to the bathroom she couldn’t help but think about the dream. The fact that she had someone out there who seemed to be like her but not her was in all things, perfect for her. They would alway be there. The Author… The final girl laid down her pen. She leaned back and smiled, another story finished and another to begin. That was why she did it. To tell the story that she had to tell and she was ready. Three girls from three storied ready to be written, she pushed back her chair and headed out into the world. We’re a million miles away This was a trailer of sorts for what I plan on writing in the near future, now I've just got to get around to doing it. The song I used was The Moon Song by Karen O. There's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait! Lin-Manuel Miranda |
