Hello! Nothing much here other than updates on my Elsanna-based WIP: "Leaving the House Where We Grew Up". Every now and then, I might toss a comment on here related to the tale's thought-process and perhaps a piece or two about myself. I will do my darnest to avoid the latter since I want you to enjoy the product of my labor rather than focus on the person behind it. Trust me: I'm quite boring; just ask my ex-wife.

What I can say is that I'm an engineer who also happens to love the written word (odd, no?), resides in the northwestern US, has a very patient girlfriend, and a penchant for really good sandwiches. I also love walks on the beach, sunsets over the water, and have an overly dry, smart-assed sense of humor.

Thanks for stopping by!

"Leaving the House Where We Grew Up" (updated 5/4)

Progress - You think I'd let you all down? :) As I promised, I'm not giving up on the story; the third chapter has now been posted. Life just seems to be getting in the way, but I'll press on. I really hope the next chapter won't take another two months and will honestly do my best to stay in the writing mode, as that provides the best outcome for all parties involved. Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope you continue to brave with me as I try to get my personal world where I want it to be! :)

Notes

I grabbed the story's title from the penultimate song of the same name by Hammock off of their phenomenal double album, Departure Songs. It's an absolutely gorgeous, heart-wrenching track, and oddly fitting with regards to the plot. At least I think so. :) I really took my time outlining the story before typing paragraph one. As it stands, with 99% certainty, expect 8 full chapters, each corresponding to the months of September through April. I will likely tack on an epilogue to cover the final academic month of May; I hate leaving loose ends or abrupt conclusions. My guess is the story will top out around 250-260 total pages. This is based on my default setting in Word: 11pt font, Times New Roman, letter size sheet, standard margins. Thank you for all the great reviews and comments! They really do mean so much to me and provide the power to press on, especially on nights when the words seem to elude me.
Leaving the House Where We Grew Up reviews
Why write this? I want to transcend the taboo associated with Elsanna. The love, the innocence, the unbreakable bond...that's the magic of it. That's what we see herein as they begin a journey into adult life, enrolled in a US university, still unaware of what the fates have in store for them. NOTE: Icest, Elsanna, language, adult themes.
