Some time in 2009 or 2010, millionaire art-dealer and archaeologist Forrest Fenn hid a medieval bronze lock-box filled with treasure somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. The box itself is worth many tens of thousands of dollars, but it's the treasure inside which is really valuable. Almost $2 million-valuable, if you accept some estimates.

The treasure chest is chock-full of old gold coins and gold nuggets, ancient artefacts, jewels and jewellery, and much more - and it's all just sitting there, somewhere, waiting for you to go get it!

That's right, there is a treasure chest filled with gold sitting out there somewhere, and if you can find it, it's all your's! It should be in a public area. It might be buried, but probably not. It might be in a cave, or in a stream. We won't know until someone solve the puzzle and ends the treasure-hunt.

But, of course, finding the treasure won't be easy
Mr. Fenn spent 15 years writing a short poem that secretly encoded a set of 9 clues - and these 9 clues lead right to the treasure chest. But, only if you decipher them first!

Forrest also wrote a book ('The Thrill of the Chase'), and hid several additional hints within the pages and chapters of the book. Yet, according to the author, the poem is all that's needed to solve the riddle and figure out the treasure's hiding-spot. The clues will help, but you should be able to solve the puzzle and find the treasure chest without anything more than the poem (and, presumably, a very good map).

Unfortunately for all the people searching for the treasure-chest, the poem has proven extremely difficult to solve. It contains nothing but the vaguest of clues, all of which seem to describe various locations.

But, even worse than that, several searchers have nearly died while looking for Fenn's pot of gold! And, one poor guy has been missing for so long that he's now presumed dead. Searching the back-waters of National Parks and Forests can be extremely dangerous, even in summer. So, be careful out there!
