![]() Author has written 2 stories for That '70s Show. "But death cannot stop true love...All it can do is delay it for a while." - The Princess Bride x x x What you need to know about me… Absolutely nothing! I’m sure you’ll go on with life much the same way you had before regardless. What you need to know about my writing… I like happy endings. I respect an author’s creative agenda, but as I say again—I like happy endings… I write long, wordy chapters. I can’t help it! Though to be fair, I think most of the stuff I put in my long, wordy chapters serve a purpose. The other stuff is probably fun filler I couldn’t bear to cut. Personally, I like it when it takes me longer than 2 minutes to finish a chapter, but hey, that’s just me… I work hard on my long, wordy chapters. A lot of thought goes into everything I write. I won’t just post something for the hell of it (If that was the case, I’d already have tons of things posted). I don’t want to sacrifice quality or storyline for haste… Anything I write is planned out way ahead of time. The storyline. The ending. The number of chapters. Everything is decided before I’ll post the first chapter. My stories… Love of My Life (for That '70s Show) Summary: Jackie and Hyde have been in and out of each other’s lives for years. When the gang gets together for Christmas—will sparks fly or will everything go up in flames? And why is Fez the only one who knows who the love of Jackie’s life is? Genre: Humor/Romance Rated: T Completion Status: (4/12) Extra Info: I started on this story back in October when I came up with the idea for She’s the Devil and decided to work on that instead since it was shorter. I have been working on this story on-and-off since. I have written a decent amount of this story. Unfortunately, I still have a decent amount to write. The whole story has been carefully planned out. The trick is, of course, finishing it. Just a word of warning—some of the chapters in this story are pretty long. I kind of treat each chapter as if it was a story within a story. If you don’t like spending a lot of time on a particular chapter, however, this story may not be for you. I really appreciate anyone who chooses to follow along with this story. I hope you enjoy it! Chapter 3 Author’s Commentary: For a while, I thought I was never going to finish chapter 3. I had the very beginning scene written at the end of October but then paused to write She’s the Devil. I then commenced writing around mid-December. However, my writing focus seemed to waver and I ended up writing bits at a time on-and-off. You won’t believe the relief I felt when I finally finished this chapter. Even though it was tedious to write at times, I’m pleased with the end result. I think the reason this chapter ended up so long is because the whole gang is featured prominently. Every time I started writing a scene it seemed each character had to inject their two cents into it. I really wanted this chapter to have an episode feel to it. The whole “Jackie is Lucy” came to me, appropriately enough, around Thanksgiving and I ran with it. Honestly, that was one of my favorite things about this chapter. I mean, who couldn’t picture Jackie pulling the ball away from Eric and him falling for it? It went right along with their characters. What else is important in this chapter? Jackie and Hyde. This chapter really represented the back-and-forth nature of their relationship. One moment, they’re burning the hell out of each other and fighting over mace, the next they’re working together to frame Kelso (again). I tried to create some tension to show the underlying chemistry between Jackie and Hyde without being overt. At this time, they aren’t ready to face up to any suppressed feelings. This all builds up nicely for chapter 4… Anyway, I had some fun with this chapter (especially writing Red and Kelso) and I hope you had fun reading it. I know it was long so I appreciate anyone who plowed through it. (Once I post Chapter 5, commentary on Chapter 3 will be replaced with commentary on Chapter 4) Special Update Info: Lots of work to be done on chapter 5 so no promises on when it’ll be released. As for what the future holds… Chapter 5 is a chapter of revelations! These are just a few of the things that shall be revealed: --The identity of Fez’s lady (If you’ve read closely, the clues are there) --The reason for Donna’s behavior in Chapter 4 (Just think about it) --What happened to the money Jackie and Hyde gave Kelso & what Jackie and Hyde intend to do about it So, stay tuned for these revelations and much, much more! 3/13/11 Update: Editing! Editing! And More Editing! She’s the Devil (for That '70s Show) Summary: It’s Halloween 1980, and the gang takes an ill-fated trip to a party that leads to some major revelations between Jackie and Hyde. Genre: Humor/Romance Rated: T Completion Status: (2/2) Finished! Extra Info: I was actually writing a completely different Jackie/Hyde fic when I was struck with the inspiration for this. My ideas for the story then quickly developed and refused to be pushed aside, so I decided to finish this fic first. I hope everyone enjoys reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Based on a review, I also want to say that I used no other works for ideas on this fic. I thought up the storyline for this fic two days before Halloween- from there I drafted an outline and preceded to write the story. Therefore, any resemblance to another work was unintentional on my part. Finally—I just want to take time to thank everyone who took the time to read/review this story. It’s much appreciated! In the works… Working on Love of My Life right now. It’s all been carefully planned out. I have some other stories in the works, but I’ll write more about those later. Right now my priority is completing Love of My Life. Some final thoughts… I think fan fiction is great. It provides an outlet for fans to read what could or should have happened to their favorite characters. It also provides writers with an outlet to further develop their writing skills and use their imagination to create unique storylines based on existing TV shows, movies, books, etc. And on that note…happy reading and writing everyone! |
