Craziest things I've done: - Stuck my hand in an ant bed (days in the playground with nothing to do). - Jumped out of a window (it wasn't a suicide attempt or anything). - Acted like I was maniac next to a couple at a soccer field (ahh the days of truth or dare). - Put a bunch of trash together outside and set it on fire. - Given an old guy a fake number complete with an equally fake name. - Ran outside in the middle of my shift at work to pet a horse. Nicest things I've done - Gave away my prom dress to a friend. - Given away money to people for various reasons. Dreams - To spread the girt of knowledge around the world. Comments - It was when I was in fourth grade that I got my first taste in writing. We all had to write a creative essay about anything and I chose to write about me and my friend getting lost in the woods and a bunch of wolves finding and bringing us back to civilization. Just about everybody (or almost everybody) loved it. They laughed, they ooed, they awed, and they were actually listening. It was amazing, thrilling, that my classmates were listening, enjoying the story as I read it aloud. I thought that it was cool, inspiring to do something like that and actually have people like it. Nine years later and it's no different. I remember when I got my first review, my heart was jumping, my head reeling as I was thinking, 'What if it's bad, what if they don't like it (I hope the like it), what if, what if, what if?!' My mind was racing, and I was overjoyed when they liked it. When people like something that I write it gives me inspiration to go on and do more, to put out more of the same stuff their loving. It's the same when I read a great fanfic or novel, I feel inspired, like I want to be in the same class as them (competitive maybe?), to challenge myself to do the same as them. Even when I get a review where the reader isn't really pleased with how the story is going, or just doesn't like it at all, it still gives me that same drive to put out better material, to change their mind and make them like it. I guess what I'm trying to say is, writing is one of those inspiratonal fields; you have to be inspired or lead by some greater cause to want write to a great story. I believe that you have to have that thing that makes you want to write because when you lose it or don't have it, then writing becomes a job (something like a 9 to 5), something you feel you have to do that isn't inspriing at all. So have something in your life that inspires you to write that makes you go the extra mile, because I believe it'll show and pay off in your writing. |
