![]() Author has written 1 story for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. What all we can say of Lori now is quite undetermined. Not only is she a disgrace to the entire teenage stereotype, but a loose Christian and an entirely all too strange of an individual to belong to the human genus. Recent scientific studies assume Lori to be a species of the mythical Heffalump, and arguably a member of the psychic lobster family. Whatever the case, scientists are glad that many of her written accounts hold that she was held an immense aversion for marriage; they were gladder still that she held the same feelings towards childbirth, seeing as if her feelings were anything otherwise, the government would’ve immediately issued that reproduction with Miss Lori be deemed absolutely and positively illegal due to the imminent outcome of a half-human, half-possibly-heffalump-or-psychic-lobster hybrid. 'Allo there, Loveths. I'm Lori or "Lorix" and the above was an introduction to a class autobiography that I wrote in third person. (Ridiculous, isn't it? And Hell Yes, I turn things of that manner in to my teachers.) Supposedly, I'm fifteen years old but I swear to the gods that I still feel fourteen. I loveth to read, write, draw, and walk. My enemies would consist of TV and the status quo. So lets kill them together, please. So recently, however, I took up a book called The Lightning Thief. I was interested already because I'm a Greek Mythology freak. So to see this book was very cool. The best part about reading it was pointing out all the Greek gods/goddesses or mythical creatures before Percy came out and told you who they were. Thereafter, I met some fellow Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series fans. One of them asked that I make a demigod for myself. The idea was interesting enough, so of course, I did. Thus sprang forth miss Jakobin Blane (pronounced JACK-uh-bin), who is basically me. She's the first female protagonist that I can actually write from, since usually I have horrible problems whenever I write from a girl's perspective, despite that I'm a girl! Her story is going to be relatively lengthy. It'll turn into a book as well, although I'll never have it published. The Misadventures of Jakobin Blane is my first ever fanfiction. What's strange is that I never would have made a Fanfiction before, simply because I find it hard to speak as someone who had already been personofied, developed, and spoken for by someone else. However, it's much easier when I have a completely new character who for the most part deals with minor characters from the Olympian Series more so than main characters, although sure enough, eventually she will. Thankeths so much for reading. I appreciate it greatly. -Lorix 27 June 2008 After much thought, I've decided to make something that should help everybody! Let's hope that this will help you in case you get lost or you forget! COMPLETE CHARACTER GUIDE FOR THE MISADVENTURES OF JAKOBIN BLANE (IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE/MENTION) Jakobin Blane (JACK-uh-bin, in case you've been pronouncing it funky.) narrator and protagonist. Fourteen years old, Jakobin has been homeschooled her entire life with the exception of Kindergarten and the Eighth grade. with her father Drake as her teacher, she has become fond of books such as the Grimm's Fairytales and Bunnicula, as well as being well-aquainted with Greek Mythology and art. However, her mother Tristan, is insistant upon her developing a social life, thereby forcing her into summer camps nearly every year. Unfortunately, Jakobin has never made a friend outside of her father Drake, or his assistant Mrs. Gale. Because of this, she has little "people skills" and becomes easily attached to inanimate objects such as her hoodie and her messenger bag. She is now at Camp Half-Blood and residing in the Hermes Cabin. Chiron Camp Half-Blood's Activities Director who suggests that Jakobin has an Olympian parent. Although she doesn't believe him and tells him that she knows both of her biological parents, he keeps her at Camp Half-Blood. When the destruction of Camp Half-Blood's Art Room occurs, a black haired boy named Logan blames the incident on Jakobin. Luckily, Chiron believes Jakobin after hearing her side of the story. Tristan Blane Jakobin's mother. Not much of about her is known, except that she seems to have a hatred for Jakobin's inverted nature. She apparently disagrees with her husband Drake homeschooling Jakobin, but has no say in the matter for reasons that remain un-named. Tristan is the reason that Jakobin is constantly attending summer camps. Drake D'artagnan (Dar-TAY-nee-an) Blane Jakobin's father and school teacher. He's also part-time librarian at New York's Public library with his assistant, Mrs. Gale. He and Jakobin have a very close bond, despite the opposition they get from Tristan. Being a school teacher however, Drake usually leaves New York every September to study in California. During this time, he leaves Mrs. Gale to take care of Jakobin while he is away. From this, we can conclude that his wife, Tristan, is not home very often. As for his personality, Jakobin describes him with a great deal of quirks. He has a thriving love for Vivaldi, carving potatoes into people, and quoting Monty Python. The Garlic Festival in California also seems to interest him, since he promises Jakobin to take her there when she turns sixteen. Connor Stoll Counselor of the Hermes Cabin along with his brother, Travis. Connor is the first person to welcome Jakobin to Camp. He is the main authority in his cabin, despite that his brother is over equal power. Connor seems to care about his cabin greatly, despite his unrivaled michieviousness. After the Art Room Incident, Connor is the first pick up on Jakobin being ostrasized by the rest of the Hermes kids. In light of this, he socializes with her so she doesn't feel like an outcast. Soon, Jakobin discovers that Connor is a strange one as well, with what his frequent impersonations of british accents and telling her to "shut uppeth." Travis Stoll Counselor of the Hermes Cabin along with his brother, Connor. Notorious for his obnoxious laugh: "HAHA!" Travis is clearly the younger of the Stoll Brothers. Although he's a Counselor, he doesn't take his responsibilites half as seriously as Connor, nor is he quite as cordial. In fact, Travis is the first person to ridicule Jakobin by throwing a gummy bear at her head as soon as she entered the Hermes Cabin, consequentally making everyone laugh at her. He shows some depth, however, when he discovers that Jakobin is afraid of the dark. He keeps his flashlight on for her so that she can sleep. Travis has also illuded to a tough life with his brother before his life in Camp Half-Blood. Cookie and Cow The Stoll Brothers' two pet rats. A gift from their father, Hermes. Apparently, they're immortal rats, seeing as they were not killed during the prank Travis played on the Aphrodite Cabin. Isaac Former Counselor of the Apollo Cabin, he is first introduced during the Art Room Incident. Isaac was the sculpting instructor in the Art Room before it was destroyed (supposedly) by Jakobin. With his actions, he is arrogant and believes that the Hermes kids are absolute scum. He especially hates Travis and Connor. Isaac also seems to have a more sinister nature when he approaches Jakobin and attempts to hurt her before he is stopped by Logan (see below). He illudes perhaps to a friendship between Logan and himself. Isaac was finally removed from his Counselor position due to his lack of supervision over his Cabin. Where he goes when he is not with his cabin, no one seems to know. Pale Guy Or so he was dubbed by Jakobin during the Art Room Incident. There are many things unknown about this boy. His true name is never given, but apparently he knows something about Jakobin's father. He was also offended when Jakobin assumed he was a member of the Hermes Cabin, but he disproved that when he single-handedly destroyed the Art Room. No one can see him except for Jakobin. Sunflower Chick A child of Demeter, so far her name has not been given out. Jakobin describes her as having messy hair and large glasses, and of course, a sunflower in her ear which denotes her name. She apparently has some sort of magic ability, for she is able tranform anything made of of paper into an evil, tiny tree (aka, a tridget). She also seems to be miffed with Jakobin for destroying the Art Room. Logan First introduced as the "The Black Haired Boy" during the Art Room Incident, Logan displays his firey nature when he attacks Jakobin for screaming and talking to someone that he and the rest of his cabin couldn't see. He has a sharp mind and has the idea that saves all the members of the Hermes Cabin during the destruction of the Art Room. However, he is stubborn and hard headed in that he insists that Jakobin is to blame for the Art Room's demolition. Jakobin discribes him as an ass, although he is the one who intervenes and saves her from being attacked by Isaac. His motives for saving her remain unknown. Jakobin's Satyr (Searcher) First Mentioned by Chiron in Chapter Four, apparently Jakobin's Satyr was also the taxi driver that took her to Camp Half-Blood. His name is unknown. Mr. D Camp Half-Blood's Camp Director and obviously a fan of the Butterfinger. He initially calls Jakobin "Jeremy Blake," mistaking her for a boy because of her "garishly masculine hair cut." He assigns Jakobin to four weeks of toilet duty. Mrs. Gale Not much is known about Mrs. Gale at this point. Jakobin claims that Mrs. Gale takes care of her while her father is away studying in California. Mrs. Gale is also Drake's assistant at New York's Public Library. Bobicus Ellfo Or just Ellfo, considering that "Bobicus just doesn't fit 'im" according to Travis. Ellfo is a member of the Hermes cabin, and is well known by Jakobin by his signature "Um's." With his shaggy blonde hair and green beanie, he looks like a weed-o, and yet reeks of butter. John The newly assigned Counselor of the Apollo Cabin after Isaac was removed. John is distinguishable by his golden lyre which he carries around while he is telling stories. He is the one who informs Connor about Isaac's removal. John, unlike his sibling Isaac, seems to be on much better terms with the Hermes Cabin. Wesley Pennington Member of the Apollo Cabin. Hailing from Great Britain, this young blonde dude worships crumpets and is the first to call Jakobin "ducky." His cabin knows him as "The British Kid," but watch out. He's not afraid to call his counselor, John, a "blithering idiot."
