![]() Author has written 1 story for Phantom of the Opera. Hello, I'm Leigh. I'm going to be in 9th, which is a bittersweet thing, I tell ya. I mean, the whole idea of my crap high school, with kids oozing out of the cracks is a bit of a downside, but the part about being able to see all the awesome kids from the track team(yes, track. It so rules.), and some of my favorite teachers are there. So yeah. Also, I'm a big, fat track geek. More specifically, a pole vaulting/hurdles geek. But anyway. So track at my school is soo not a big thing. Football is the #1. For example, the school just recently built a whole new wing for football weight lifting (they get their own gym, and the rest of us sport low-lifes get the old one), indoor training, and classrooms so they can "strategize." Plus, they got a new scoreboard that cost mucho bucks, and has a screen for play-by-plays, spits out music and radio, and much much more. Meanwhile, our school, which is totally old and falling apart, not to mention too small, gets nada. No upgrades, no new additions, no nothing. (As you may or may not be able to tell, this annoys me. I like football, and all, but not when it becomes the main center of attention, even over academics. And takes up atleast 80 of the school's allotted budget. So track peeps can't get much needed new uniforms and equipitment.) Yeah, back to track. I just recently started pole vaulting, but have been hurdling for about 2 years. I am seriously in love with pole vaulting. I took it up around the end of last season, since we needed a girl vaulter, or actually, A vaulter. I was the only one to volunteer, and am currently my school's only vaulter(the other guy got hurt and quit). Also, despite my love of it, I sorta suck. I can clear about 5'6", but not higher, usually. I've only been at it for 3 weeks or so, though. My coach will be working with me this summer and fall, and she should be able to whip me into shape. Oi, I can already feel the aching muscles. So, aside from track, I like my Lit classes, and History. Not so much the Algebra and Physics. I am a member of the academic team, in my spare time, and have a blast. I also pick a tune now and then on my guitar. But when no one can hear me play. 'Cause I sorta-kinda am not so good. I try, though. Another thing is, if you haven't already guessed from my fanfic id, I write on my roof. (Seriously, it's dangerous, you could slip and die, so don't try it. But if you must, make sure there are no witnesses.) No lie. There's this turret I can climb up on a little ways from my brother's window, and it's my thinking spot. It's amazing. No one can see me if they stick their head out the window and look up, it's hard to notice from the ground, and it's got the best view of everything. I can just escape from the house, and sit apart from everything to just figure things out, and there no one can interrupt me. And it can be a great inspiration to my writing. So, I highly recommend finding your own rooftop (metaphorically speaking). It's a great place to breathe. And that's me, folks. Yup. Look for my Phantom of the Opera story, which I am co-writing with an e-pal of mine, fictionwarrior876, but which will now be posted under my profile. Hopefully, it'll be comming soon. We'll see.
