Since the special, this scene has been playing in my head as I try to imagine John's reaction to the OD, so I'm working it out here. Beta read by Sherlock1110. Trigger warning for drugs and a recent suicide attempt.

Four days into his week-long incarceration after shooting Charles Magnussen, Sherlock receives a visitor. Lestrade is not the person he expects, nor the one he hopes to see, but might be exactly who he needs all the same. Set between HLV and TAB. (My idea of how the Ricoletti case got "lodged in Sherlock's hard drive".)

'A pair of thin, pale, hands take the cup from John, John looks up, and see's Sherlock Holmes standing in front of him. "Hello, John" says Sherlock.' OR: John has a habit that deals with tea, and his one true friend.

When Valjean cut Javert's bound hands free, he had also unknowingly cut Javert's life to an end as well. It would have been better if he had just left him to die an honorable death, leaving him rotting in the filthy streets like the trash that he was.

An alternate ending to my favorite book. Don't get me wrong, I love the ending in Hugo's, but sometimes I like a happier last chapter. COMPLETE. It looks like a lot of chapters but they are very short. What would happen if Jean Valjean had been captured? What if more people joined the barricades-including Cosette?
