![]() Who we are: Vlad and Vedder, are two gentlemen who are originally Yaoi gurus from Brussels. Some people may know us as the "Techno Twins", that said, we enjoy techno music, and dancing with ribbons at hostels, specially in the wee hours of the morning, as well as annoying our room mates. About us: Vlad and Vedder; HATE Mary Sues (and Gary Stues) just as much as they hate any 'male' character turned into a girl, and have 0 (zero) tolerance for them and their writers. They have dicks for a reason people!. But, we LOVE well written stories, with interesting plots and believable characters with good dialogue and spelling. We mean, we actually like to understand what is being said. Also, we like plenty of genres and are fairly open minded, not only in fandoms, but pairings as well. We are always willing to leave a good review and offer encouragement to writers. We know it takes a lot of balls, courage and effort to post something, and inevitably have it be subjected to criticism, assessment and judgment by different individuals; since everyone has their opinions. But we are also painfully honest, sometimes brutally so, and if a story sucks, we will say so. But not just say it sucks, but say WHY we think it sucks in hopes of it constituting a form of 'constructive criticism' (or something like it). We are usually very skeptical and don't receive OC's well. We mean, if we wanted to read about some random character we would read ORIGINALS. Hello!, if we go to say, the Harry Potter archives it's because ... wait... wait for it... we actually wanna read about HARRY POTTER and its characters, not about an OC whom we have no love for, attachments or even previous knowledge of, honestly! there are usually plenty of people to choose from in ANY fandom to fill in for any role in the story (spotlight or other wise). Though our dislike may come because of the overly abused OC's who are annoyingly perfect, beautiful, wonderfully curvy femme-fatales who always get a popular cannon with their multi-colored hair, gorgeous spark shooting eyes and beyond the beyond powers. We don't mind them (much) if they are a supporting role, such as of a friend, relative or teacher who ONLY compliments the main character or the plot, supporting or offering advice. NO Main-CharXOC. Unless, for example, say the story is about DM/HP but as a side paring LM/OC, though needless to say, they have to be exceptionally well written and developed, it's exhausting keeping up with these gals who have 7 names and are somehow related to half the characters. Also a word of advice for many, if you are planning on writing a school setting type of story and you write 'collage and unibersity, please stick to Middle School, we dare say even High School level english is too much for you. Y.Y It's preposterous trying to read a school type setting story where the students are smart and they are in a challenging 'collage' ... really, collages are those project thingies where in a cardboard you cut out a bunch of pics. and power phrases or whatever a glue them together, yeah that's a collAge not collEge. With that out of the way, plenty of cheers, joy, blessings and encouragement to all of the FF writers and readers out there. We are a fairly small community of people with similar interests, hobbies and/or pastimes, so we consider everyone a friend until proved different. Vladdie and I say that we must stick together (and dance techno when appropriate). P.S; Vote 4 Snape. (This ain't no beauty contest :P) |
