Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Hello all! I am fairly new to the world of Fan Fiction, and even newer to the world of writing Fan Fiction, but I love writing and reading, and I can be a pretty big fan, so I give this whole thing two big thumbs up. I'm in the middle of writing my first fic now, a Harry Potter second-generation fic. I've been a loyal and madly obsessed Harry Potter fan for about ten years now, and when I finished the books and the movies were over, like so many others, I couldn't bear to see it end. There was still so much to know. So I figured, like so many others, why should it have to end? It never has to end. Thus beginning my taste for Fan Fiction. In my opinion, J.K.'s epilogue was a great big gift to all Fan Fic fans out there. And, in my opinion, Fan Fiction is a form or art in and of itself. People can say what they want about it, but Fan Fiction is different than writing an original story because you are continuing something wonderful, bringing your own dreams to life (not to say original writing is worse than fan fiction by any means, both are wonderful and creative). To me, writing about the next generation feels like growing up with them all over again, and it feels real. When I finally post my fic, I just hope everyone enjoys it. I am open to suggestions, reviews, and constructive criticism, but not to outright offensive comments toward me, my writing, or anyone else. Just keep in mind, everyone here has a common goal: to stimulate the imagination and enjoy themselves, not tear others to shreds. Another note: When I do post, I will try as hard as it is in my being to try to not be one of those publishers who leaves people excited and then doesn't post for what seems like months and months, but please keep in mind that as I am entering my senior year of high school I have a lot on my plate, including but not limited to college preparation, juggling a job, and general schoolwork. That's about all for now. If you read and like my work, please tell me! And if you notice parts that have been proven false by J.K. Rowling (not by you yourself as a fan, who just disagrees with what I say) please feel free to, politely, let me know if it really truly bothers you, and I will make the proper edits. One more thing: if you read my fic and like my story (once it's up, anyway), keep in mind that I'm sort of at the point where I'm thinking up new things and twists along the way, so if you have a serious, passionate urge for something to happen/coupling/whatever it may be, I am open to suggestions in a private message, although I can't make any promises. And that's about all. Happy reading! |
