Chapter 4 has been added almost finished with a few more to continue the Growing Pains saga. Jess has a new family member. In my Laramie world Andy and Jonesy returned home each summer for a visit as well as Christmas. This saga takes place early third season.

Two characters that Robert Fuller played made strong impressions upon my heart and this story pits Buck Harmon against Jess Harper; can two strong men face each other and still come out alive? While Buck Harmon attempts to save Jess's life, he learns an important lesson about women from Jess after a cougar attack at the ranch leaves Jess near death.

To help the Sherman Ranch, Jess agrees to drive a new Doctor to a distant town. Shouldn't be too much trouble or take too long. At least that's what he thinks.

Having tried to explain Jess to Daisy without betraying confidences, Slim now has to make Jess see why it was necessary.

Just how did Daisy know enough of what Jess was capable of doing as to "faint" and give him his chance in Jubilee? A little vignette to explain it.

Slim and Jess always have each other's backs – right? So what would it take to make Jess act otherwise and how would Slim react if he did?

More than ghosts of Jess' past appear. How will he accept the new revelations?

This is a fill in the gap for the episode Vengeance from when the Morgan brothers were shot up until the tag. Although I have posted 2 Laramie stories this is actually the first one I wrote. It has taken many rewrites and 3 years to complete. A big thank you to Jan for beta reading for me. This story has 17 chapters and an epilogue. Hopefully I figure out how to post them all.

Blinded in an accident, Jess begins to question his place and his usefulness at the Sherman Ranch. As he struggles to make up his mind about staying put or moving on, Slim and the others are there for him all the way to let him know he's found a family in them, and he'll always have a home in Laramie.

There are only so many things a man can stand - and sometimes comfort is not one of them. A simple item of news shatters the world of the relay station with terrible consequences, driving Jess into unknown territory as he is compelled to complete a harrowing, secret task. (Long 4-part story. Updated Mar 8 in light of reviews and feedback; new incidents, mainly in Ch 16-18).

MISSING CHAPTERS UPDATED! This is actually a Laramie/Laredo crossover, but they don't have a category for Laredo, so... Itchy for action, Jess volunteers for a secret mission for the stage line, but horrific events lead his friends on the Sherman Ranch to believe that Jess was killed. Can Rangers Joe, Chad, and Reese find the truth, or is Jess really gone for good?

After a disastrous man-hunt, Slim and Jess are bone-weary, bickering and benighted when a chance encounter raises deadly serious questions. Or is it chance?

It ought to be simple to teach a grown man to swim, but somehow there seems to be a sizeable glitch in communication on the subject between Jess and Slim.

A longish tale whereby Jess makes an unexpected acquisition due to a poker tournament...and the fallout that results, a romance for Slim and a Mayoral election.

Jess Harper finds himself in the inconvenient position of posing as a doctor for outlaws

Jess is taken at gunpoint from the Laramie saloon. When wounded, he reluctantly accepts help from the man who took him captive. This is an adventure story with humour and hurt/comfort.

Conducting a fishing expedition is a tough assignment, but when Slim falls through on a promise, Jess selflessly volunteers to take Andy on a camping trip he'll NEVER forget!

Has Slim Sherman solved the mystery of Jess Harper's disappearance? Or have his rash actions guaranteed his best friend's death? Story has 47 chapters plus Notes, but will be published in 5 parts.

With Slim in Denver on stage-line business, Jess is forced into a gunfight in the Sherman Ranch yard. Now he's certain that, to protect his newfound family from possible harm, he must give them up. I've added nine numbered chapter heads for those who find one big chunk of fic difficult to read.

Sent to buy horses up north, Jess is reported killed, and Slim takes the buckboard to "fetch him home." But when he gets there, the body isn't Jess.

An insidious intruder cries havoc and lets slip the dogs of adolescence.

A descendant ruminates on the beginnings and begats of the sprawling Sherman-Harper dynasty...

Slim has a bad habit and Jess is getting a little fed up.

A pack of wolves stalk the Sherman ranch and attack Jess as he tends to the horses in the barn. Will the stage driver, passenger, and Jess and Slim survive? Rated K for a couple of swear words.
