Gail Peck and Holly Stewart. My take on what happens next, following on from where the show ended in Season 4. FF relationship, so if you don't like that kind of thing, don't read.

2,600 miles. 387 days... A story of living life and falling in love across the wire. Because for Holly Stewart, there is only Gail Peck; she just needs to accept that.

Gail is a lonely teenager in a new town and a new school who is sure she doesn't know the first thing about friendship. Holly is a disgustingly cheerful girl who doesn't mind teaching Gail a thing or two. There's laughter, bloody knuckles, and a kiss or two, sign language, and teenagers trying to grow up right.

All major events of S4/5 covered but with my own take on it. There will be drama, romance and fluff. "How would you define love? Like tacky, commercialised rubbish that makes me want to vomit from my pores." It certainly wasn't a brunette with an affinity for snarky blondes.

Canon divergent from the beginning of 4x12 - Gail Peck has never had a best friend before..that is until she met Holly. Slow burn floofiness.

Based after the events of 4x13 Gail attempts to come to grips with her feelings and eventually confronts Holly with what's on her mind, in her own specific Gail way. My first Rookie Blue fic after a while away from writing. Please let me know what you think. Now a multi-chapter piece.

Post 5x10 "Maybe, in the wake of a year that gave her head and her heart whiplash, she could still soar. Sure, she was but a passenger right now, but she was still flying, wasn't she? Maybe this was all just the gust of wind she needed, maybe Holly Stewart could fly on her own once again."

Gail meets Holly in the hospital right after she is rescued from Ross Perrick.

"Love is a growing up." - James A. Baldwin. Takes place about two months after "We're Never Done With Killing Time." Gail and Holly being...Gail and Holly. Appearances by your favorite Rookie Blue-ers. "Steve's voice was soft and calm. His closed lip smile spoke more than his words. He quickly removed his feet from the guardrail of the hospital bed and rose from his chair."

Gail and the rookies go to a Roller Derby bout where Gail gets herself hitched to Holly. What starts as a little white lie may not stay that way.

Set after 5x07. Gail is tired of being Gail. Dark beginning. Gets lighter in later chapters. M for Mature Theme

AU: Gail is convinced into going to a music festival with others from her college dorm and is admittidly having a good time until a stranger ruins her night. Thankfully, she meets someone who is willing to lend a hand.

It happens in the middle of a routine investigation. Which, when Gail thinks about it, is when most of the bad things actually happen. In the middle of nowhere, without a second plan or back up. However, this time she doesn't know whether she will get another chance to say the things she's never said.

This story is about Gail Peck. About Holly too, but mostly Gail. About Gail learning to grow & to like herself better ... if her mother doesn't get in the way. Told from both Gail and Holly's perspectives. A sequel to an earlier story, It Has Been a … Day (but you don't necessarily have to have read it- see Author's note).
