![]() "There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are." W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965) To me, writing is more of a therapeutic activity than one for entertainment purposes. I rarely show anyone what I create, and even less frequently create anything that isn't a work of non-fiction pertaining directly to events in my own life. Currently, I am trying to break that habit by attempting a work of fanfiction based on the television show Bones, which is among my favorite programs. Others include Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, House, and Smallville (a regrettable guilty pleasure). While I may or may not post my efforts, I do take great pleasure in reading the efforts of others. A well written story is hard to come by, particularly in the art of fan fiction, and I find it thrilling to come across a piece that captures known characters well. I am a firm believer in constructive criticism, so if I believe you have done something poorly I will tell you. Most find this quality helpful, as it makes me a very enthusiastic beta. I also believe in positive reinforcement, so if you have done something well, expect passionate reviews declaring just that. And if I ever do post a piece, I hope to receive reviews, positive or negative, because acknowledgment is one of the most delightful aspects of writing for entertainment. It is for this reason I give feedback to most stories I read. I love to make people happy. On a personal note, I am a female freshman in college currently pursuing a B.A. in Anthropology, and I love to make friends. Feel free to message me for any reason. And keep on posting.
