Author's Note

There’s something about the way the keys feel underneath my fingers that isn’t reflected in any other form of writing. A pen in my hand, a pencil scratching the rough texture of paper doesn’t hold the same flow as when the keys move under my fingers. I took piano when I was young, and the sensation is much the same as when I played a song I particularly loved.

I’ve been writing since I was in second grade. Ever since then, I haven’t particularly thought about writing-- it’s not something I choose to do, something I even want to do necessarily. I write because I need to write. I write because words are like air-- I need to write like I need to breathe. Writing is a mixture of catharsis and desire for me. If I feel something strongly, I throw myself into the words, the search for le mot juste, the right word to describe everything I’m experiencing. If I want to feel something or want to understand something, I fall into the words, searching for the truth.

The Rest Of It

So, I decided it's high time I filled this thing out.

I used to be on Fanfiction.net a long time ago under a different username. I've forgotten the password and the email account it's keyed to, and I'm no longer known by that name, so I decided to just make a new one. Besides, the old works make me shudder in the same way my new ones undoubtedly will in a few years.

I write fanfiction because I adore characters and worlds and often become too lazy to work with/in my own. I post fanfiction, rather than my original works for a more shameful reason-- I love comments. I adore them. They make me write things I wouldn't write and challenge myself.

About the Author

I'm 20 years old, happily taken, a college student (thus no money), and I have no life. Really. I had one, but then most of the interesting people moved away for college. I try to be careful when talking/writing on the internet because I'm well aware that most communication is done without words, and I don't want to be misinterpreted/taken in the wrong way. I'm not out to offend anyone, and in the event that I do offend, I apologize in advance.
