Long before the war, young Optimus and Megatron are kidnapped and sold for their worth of being Sentinel Prime's heirs. While in captivity, they meet other valued younglings such as the Prince of Vos, the Lord High Protector's creation, and the future Magnus. Together, these five will risk it all to make it home with their friendship and their lives.

Optimus reflects on his past, and the family he's lost in the war. Some ghosts from his past resurface. One asks for forgiveness, one seeks revenge, and another gives protection and love.
