![]() Author has written 9 stories for Fallout, and Dungeons and Dragons. Hello and thanks for dropping in. As a writer, I do mostly non-fiction -- popular history, which while definitely a story-telling exercise, is not quite the same as writing fiction. On the upside, I get paid for it, which is nice. I got into fanfiction as a way to sharpen my creative writing skills and pay homage to the video game I became immersed in a couple years ago, Fallout 4. Like most writers, I am very interested in critiques of my work. This is how we grow as writers. So if you're reading, please take a minute to leave a comment, particularly if you spot plot holes, or when things don't make sense or aren't clear, or if characters are behaving in ways that seem unbelievable. Or if you just want to say something nice. Feedback is good. Also typos, because even relentless proofreaders miss typos. I'm not much interested in Fallout 4 Soul Survivor re-tellings, either reading or writing. It's sort of a "been there, done that" thing. So my stories drift around in the shadows at the edge of canon. My two big works, "A Beautiful Heart" and "The Memory Box" are canon-divergent, and all my FO4 stories fall into the same headcanon and all the Nick Valentine stories are narratively connected. If you wanted to read them in order it would be: - Nights at the Rail / When Magnolia Sings / Snow Angels / A Soft West Wind (No particular order) - Oblivion (Nick Valentine) - The Beautiful Heart (Nick Valentine) - The Memory Box (Nick Valentine) - Ghosts - The Last Word "Ghosts" (which was my first ever fanfiction) and its companion piece "The Last Word" are chronologically last of my Fallout 4 stories and contain spoilers for The Memory Box. All these stories are now complete and I don't have any plans for any new works in the near future. Prospective readers should be aware that these are works of adult fiction intended for an adult audience. There's violence and bad language and sex (implied, but not always). Bad things happen to good people. I want to thank everyone who took time to comment, especially Alexeij and Scrimshawpen, whose thoughtful discussion helped me shape The Memory Box in particular. They are definitely authors worth reading for those of a Fallout inclination. So that's it. I hope you've enjoyed reading these as much as I've enjoying writing them. Please don't hesitate to comment or critique, or just say "hi". Cheers, DM |
