Sea Salt Ice Cream recipe

Ingredients:

Two eggs

Two cups of milk

1/3 cup of sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

One cup of heavy whipping cream

Around 3/4 a teaspoon of sea salt

Edible food coloring

Step I

Separate the eggs. Put the whites in one large bowl and the yolks in another large bowl.

Step II

Beat egg yolks, preferably with a hand-held beater, until the become stiff. You may check by poking them gently with a fork or butter knife, if they stay in the same general position they are stiff.

Mix egg yolks and sugar with a fork until thick

Step IV

Boil milk at medium high temperature, stirring continuously to avoid burning it.

Step V

Cool milk slightly before slowly pouring it in with the egg yolks and mixing it at the same time.

Step VI

Pour back into pot and stir continuosly over medium low for 17 minutes exactly. Do not allow it to boil. It will become thick.

Step VII

Cool slightly before pouring into egg whites then stirring.

Step VIII

Slowly sprinkle in pinches of sea salt, stirring between. It should become smooth.

Step IX

Cool in refrigerator for 50 minutes to an hour.

Step X

Mix in whipping cream and vanilla

Step XI

Color it.

Aqua blue (like in Kingdom Hearts): 20 drops of blue, 3 drops of grean

Red: 20 drops of red

Yellow: 20 drops of yellow

Orange: 10 drops of red, 10 drops of yellow

Green: 20 green

Step XII

Pour into mold(s)

Step XIII

Put into freezer for at least 12 hours
