Dr. Steven Garner was born and raised in Brooklyn, in a family of educators. His mother was a educator and his father, Doctor. Harvey Garner was Chancellor of the Ny public school system. Dr. Garner served in the united states Air Force as a Captain and the united states Army reserves as a major. He then attended Chicago Medical School followed by Mount Sinai Hospital for Radiology where he had been a Resident. Dr. Garner contains a Board Certification in Urgent situation Medicine and Radiology.
Doctor. Garner is currently that Chairman of Radiology at Nyc Methodist Hospital. Prior to that he was Chief Professional medical Officer at St. Vincentâs Catholic Healthcare Centers. He was also head of the disaster committee at St Vincentâs and it was during his tenure that 9/11 attacks occurred. Doctor. Garner coordinated the medical response for the system and was also an integral part of the city wide disaster committee which addressed the disaster and subsequent plans for a repeat disaster of nuclear, biological and chemical terrorism on both an area and national level.
Doctor. Garner frequently appears on major television networks, one being Fox News where he or she is a guest analyst. He has been the host with the Prayer Channelâs (today NET) Ask the doctor series for 9 months â now in its 10th. Dr. Garner also writes a weekly column in the Brooklyn Diocesan newspaper, The Tablet also entitled Ask the doctor.
In addition to his many responsibilities, Dr. Garner is linked to numerous national organizations including: The American College of Healthcare Executives, The American University or college of Radiology, The North american Heart Association, and can be a fellow of The Us Academy of Emergency Medicine.
On a more personalized note, Dr. Garner is a life-long Brooklynite; he currently lives with Prospect Park South with his wife Anne, a Shrink. His two daughters Intend and Eve also either practice medicine. Hope is ophthalmology resident at Saint. Lukeâs Roosevelt Hospital, wedded to Dr. Daniel Stephens, some sort of surgeon; and Eve is radiology resident at Downstate Medical.
Dr. Garner plays that cello, piano and the organ that will be frequently seen wandering in Prospect Park with his wife. His favorite dining out experience is Sunday Brunch in the River Cafe, accompanied by his wife and Msgr. Bennett. My websites: Local Doctor
