I'm just killing time until Season 3 imagining how that year will go because I love these characters and it makes me sad to be without them. Amending this summary one last time now that this story knows what it wants to be when it grows up. Post Season 2, lots of fluff, a bit of plot, primarily a Hopper & Eleven, Mile/Eleven story, but damn near everyone's in it.

In which high school students Mike, Lucas, Max, Dustin, and Will need a new lead singer for their classic-rock garage band. They hold auditions, but only one student tries out: El, the new loner kid from Chicago. What follows? Romance, friendship, drama, Yoko-Onoing, and one hell of a start to Junior year.

Nancy and Jonathan in their senior year go on an impromptu road trip.

In which Mike accidentally lets it slip that smoking cigarettes causes lung cancer, and Eleven does not take it well. Not even a little bit. PG-13, Fluff/family, post-S2, Mike/Eleven.

"There's an 11:30 train out of Union that gets me there just in time for dinner. Don't worry about me, okay? I've got something I gotta work on, and I'll take a book with me or something. How do you tape together your life when the world seems determined to keep breaking it again, and again, and again? It's something that Steve Harrington doesn't have the answer to. And he doesn't think he'll ever figure it out, anyway. But hey. Maybe it'll make a good college essay.

The night of their senior prom was the first time Mike actually got to spend the night with Eleven and wake up with her in the morning, and he was going to enjoy every second of it. PG-13, romance/fluff/humor, post-S2, Mike/Eleven.

Boy meets girl. Boy falls for girl. Boy gets his ass kicked on the very first day of high school. Not necessarily in that order. The High School AU Mileven story absolutely nobody asked for.

Mike took a second to think of how weird everyone was acting, and then looked down, gaze landing straight away on the main headline of what was indeed that day's edition of The New York Times: GORBACHEV, LAST SOVIET LEADER, RESIGNS. "I have to go to El's," he declared, almost in a gasp. PG, romance/angst/family, post-S2, Mike/Eleven.

"I'm not jealous of her," [El] threw back, still glaring, but where a moment ago she'd just seemed angry, now she also looked hurt. "I'm mad at YOU." PG-13, romance/drama/fluff, Mike/Eleven, post-S2.

She's quite clearly holding back a grin now, her cheeks all pink and puffy. The corners of her mouth turn up, a smile branding her lips, and Mike can't help but copy her once he's come to his senses, "Why are you kicking me?" (Prompt: One of them keeps snoring, and the other continuously kicks them to wake them up.)

When they're thirteen, Hopper doesn't worry much when he catches them locked in an embrace by the front door. It lasts a little while longer than it should but it doesn't trouble him. Things change as they get older, though. But, when they're twenty-three, and they build a home, Hopper no longer has anything to worry about.

Over her shoulder he saw the bride and groom dance and laugh together just a few feet away, and the awe hit him all over again, that he could see himself and El being just like that... someday. PG-13, romance/fluff, Mike/Eleven, post-S2.

In which Mike Wheeler, president of Hawkins High's AV Club, falls for El Hopper, Hawkins' resident punk outcast (and secret telekinetic). They meet in detention. The rest is history. / an 80's high school au

"I love sugary things," she commented as she took a sip of the strawberry milkshake they were sharing. "Yeah, I'm aware," he retorted with an amused smile before leaning in to steal a kiss. PG-13, romance/fluff, Mike/Eleven, post-S2.

To his thirteen-year-old mind, six months was not soon. No, six months was officially a long time. And every day from today on would be a long time since the last time he saw her. And that... that made it hurt so much more. PG, angst/pining, Mike/Eleven, between S1 & S2.

"Have you ever thought about running away?" he asked. He wasn't looking at her, but instead was facing the lake, looking out into the rain, hands stuffed in the pockets of his jacket. PG, romance/angst, Mike/Eleven, post-S2.

"Why do you love me?" she asked inquisitively, her textbook temporarily forgotten. "What do you love about me?" And for the first time in a long time, Mike was speechless, not because he didn't have an answer, but because he seemed to have far too many.

It had to be on every father's list of worst nightmares, Jim mused as he stood in the doorway of Eleven's room, to come home one day and find his teenage daughter in bed with her boyfriend. PG-13, romance/family, Mike/Eleven, post-S2.

Mike walks El to class every single day, even if it means he's going to be late to his own.

"Oh, honestly, Ted! I love you, but you can be so oblivious!" Ted Wheeler decides to pay closer attention to his son and this girlfriend of his...with comedic results.

"I have to be sad? When someone I know dies?" Mike stops by the cabin after Bob's funeral to bring El some stuff, and a simple question leads to some deep realizations. "So... that's new." "What is?" "The 'I love yous.'" The Wheelers travel to New York to spend Thanksgiving 1987 with Nancy, and Mike is having trouble going two days without speaking to his girlfriend. Family/romance, post-S2, Mike/Eleven, Wheeler siblings.

"I don't blame her I blame you!" Eleven leaned on the wall next to Will's bedroom door, listening to the argument taking place inside and wishing she could do something to take away Mike's pain. It took everything in her to not bust the door down and run into his arms. (Eleven's thoughts while Hopper and Mike argue) Mileven oneshot

And just like that, the library at Hawkins High had become a war room, a strategy session where all the members of the party devised a plan to protect one of their own. There was something about her that tugged at the back of Scott's mind... something he couldn't quite place. "I'm sorry, are you sure we've never met before? You seem familiar, for some reason." Romance/humor, post-S2, Mike/Eleven.
