An alternate imagining of Mrs. Gaskell's story, assuming Margaret had been hurt more seriously on the day of the riot. Intertwines elements of both the book and the BBC series, but focuses less on angst and more on the relationship of John and Margaret. Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, but am only presuming to borrow them for a while.

Margaret receives a letter from Mr Bell that throws her into despair. She is forced make a choice that wasn't meant to be hers, but the consequences are not hers alone to deal with.

There is a word that exposes the very soul of John Thorntons relationship with Margaret Hale. One word which defines their love, their life, and their desperate pursuit of one for the other. One word that ties together each shared moment, and embodies every aspect of a battle not so easily won: Suppression.

What if Margaret Hale did look back at Mr. Thornton as she was about to leave Milton after the death of her parents? The story continues after Margaret visits the Thorntons to say goodbye and to give Mr. Thornton her father's book. Book and series based.

So the title is self-explanatory. The story is about our two favourite people falling in love.

Both Margaret's Mother and Father have passed away. Her Aunt is still in Italy and her Cousin in Greece. She is left all alone in Milton. How will Thornton rescue her, and will she inadvertantly rescue him in return?

Distressed by her mother's death and afraid for her brother's life, Margaret Hale turns to prayer for comfort and guidance. The answer she receives will force her to swallow her pride and depend upon another. But will she be able to do so?

I always thought there should be a scene at the end of the miniseries where we actually saw things get resolved outright between Margaret and Mr. Thornton. I am expanding on this idea after a great beginning. Reviews are most welcome!

Based on the TV mini-series, this story takes place after dinner but before the end of the evening. I always felt there was a scene missing that bridges the argument between Margaret and Mr. Thorton at the dinner party to him expressing is love for her after the riot the next day.

What happens after John and Margaret board the train? My own version of what I hope would've happened after. They've recognized their love for each other - but will it be enough to begin a new life together with so many opposed to their union. Please read, review, and enjoy.

'North & South' AU. Rumours are flying around Milton about Margaret and the man at Outwood Station, and the way Mr Bell and Mr Hale see it, it would be best if she were married as soon as possible. Mr Thornton seems the most likely candidate...

Margaret/Thornton oneshot. Sometimes words are superfluous. Sometimes it is actions that speak volumes instead of trite sentiments.
