They locked eyes for a moment. Reading each others souls, wondering if one had missed the other after their divorce ten years ago.

Austria took in all his love's features, as if seeing them for the first time. Her rosebud smile was the same, which pleased him. Her figure still slight and feminine but her head held high with her usual strength and pride. Her emerald eyes alight, flickering with uncertainty, love, wonder and joy all at once. They stared at Austria, as if in disbelief.

Without thinking, Hungary's eyes began to sparkle with water. She was crying? Austria didn't like to see Hungary cry, not before, not now, not ever. He opened his mouth to speak but only a startled, undignified gasp came.

Hungary gave a watery smile and surprisingly, leapt onto Austria. Her graceful arms wrapped round the nobleman's figure. It gave the Germanic nation a warmth he hadn't felt for so long. Without a second thought, Austria smiled lovingly and planted a gentle kiss on her forehead.

At last Hungary smiled again, cheeks red with sobs of happy tears. "I love you. Still. I've missed you so much."
