Author has written 1 story for Rurouni Kenshin. I'm a Filipino, old enough to get a degree, not old enough to leave fanfic.net for good. Though I'd like to write as a guy, I'm a girl, 29 years of age since December last year (2003), a member of the Manila Kendo Club, and soulmate to a girlfriend who's actually a guy. (Confused? Don't be. We're not pervs, but we do detest stereotypes in REAL life.) I'm also an English major who currently teaches Literature, English for the Professions, and Semantics (University of the Philippines, Diliman, but don't call me professor! Hate the title!) so, if I've lapses in grammar, forgive me, I wasn't born to be a grammar guru, am not a native-speaker, and definitely wouldn't pretend to be one!!! For certain, language is more than just a bunch of rules, which is why it takes so much more than just grammatical/linguistic competence to write a good story. Anyway, if I do have lapses, they're either the result of carelessness or boredom because I do edit a lot but sometimes get lost in the process especially when punching keys and pasting texts seem so easy. And since I'm also tired of being someone's grammar police, I don't review other people's work like they're my students. Writing ought to be fun, liberating, and insightful so I focus on the story and its appeal. Mine needs a lot of work but hey, we're all students who can grow up together and have fun together. Anyway, those are my husband's words. He used to teach Medieval Philosophy and Logic, but now devotes his time to writing his latest fave--Heidegger and Hamlet. We got married this January (but I still like to call him a 'girl'friend, because he's so un-masculine in an endearingly positive way) and this is the reason why I've been gone for so long. For those who are wondering, I've been a fan for years but didn't have the time to write until life became a little more stable and settled. Unfortunately though, everybody seems to be reading and writing something else (eg.,Inuyasha?). I want to write so many to overtake the latest count but I don't think you'd be reading all that much anytime soon...Anyway, I may be an anime addict but I'd rather be remembered as an eternal RRK fan, so I'd stick around forever, if you'd let me. Cheers ^_^ |
