This alternate version comes from this one scenario I came up with where Max would beg Barb or Hank to at least allow him to go to prom, and when I would ask different folks how Barb or Hank would respond to that, I was surprised how most of these folks said that they would of showed him some leniency, especially given how upset they were towards Max.
