![]() Author has written 1 story for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. My Interests: I am a writer, and though that much can be gleaned from my presence on the site, I feel it necessary to convey the respect in which I regard the written word. Perhaps humanity's most intriguing advance, writing has empowered me, imbuing me with confidence, imagination, and heart. Passion flows from the very core of my body as I think about the truly remarkable impact literature exerts on society. I hope to be a part of that influence. In addition, the study of history and of politics fascinates me, and though the stories I've written hitherto are geared for younger audiences, I plan to incorporate some core messages into my writing in the future. My Views Religion is a private matter, and the topic is one I prefer not to discuss (with respect to my particular beliefs). That understood, I find the theological study of Holy Texts to be exhilarating. If you fancy a discussion oriented in the role of religion in the community, its historical growth and development, and its interaction with modern elements of thinking, feel free to contact me. I am very much anti-discrimination, and though I will fight for your right to believe and say what you please, freedoms I believe all true liberal democracies must protect, I abhor homophobia, racism, sexism, classism, etc. As an ardent adversary of manipulation, power-plays, and distortions of the truth, I maintain a strong liking for logic and those who wield it to accomplish good. Favorite Works: George Orwell's Animal Farm: Always be wary of another's motives, alert to possible manipulation, and apprehensive when faced with what is tantalizingly presented as beyond flaw. Homer's The Iliad coupled with his Odyssey: the insight into the sociological construct of classical-age civilizations they provide is enticing The Bible: I very much enjoy the messages conveyed by Christ in regard to leading a good life, and as such I enjoy the study of the Christian Holy Book's influence on later sociological patterns. This, in turn, causes some dismay, as the horrid acts perpetrated in the name of God are indicative of persistent human nature. Karly Marx's The Communist Manifesto: Not that I actually agree with many of Marx's views, but his sentiments are well-expressed and I admire his commitment to the disenfranchised. All the same, having examined it thoroughly, his solution to an undeniable problem is impractical. Favorite Quotations: An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind. Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely. All major religious traditions carry basically the same message, that is love, compassion and forgiveness the important thing is they should be part of our daily lives. Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality...I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. Credits I would be nothing without the support bequeathed unto me by various friends and members of my family. I am grateful to my early readers, to all those who have shared their opinions of me, and to anyone who enjoys reading and writing - for making this a wonderful experience. Taking the time to credit my cover image for The Son of Hypnos is important, as it lets the creator know I am thankful for their work. I am grateful, therefore, for Stupidly Creative and her rendition of my characters. | |||||||
