She's spent 10 years hawkin' headlines, having no problems, but when new kid Davey comes along and Pulitzer races the prices of the papers, she begins having problems she's never had to face before.

The rooftop. It was really Crutchie's roof, as his parents paid the rent on the large historic house, but to anybody who knew anything, it was Jack's penthouse. Many an afternoon had been spent on this particular roof by the two best friends. To Jack, this night was just going to be another normal night between him and his best friend. "The whole argument is completely ridiculous. Then the boy hoists the kid off the ground by the collar of his shirt, shoves him up against a wall and pulls his other arm back, hand in a fist that will clearly do some serious damage. Jack has to step in. He did come here to play hero, after all." In which Davey gets beat up and that's how the two first meet. (Javid/Javey goodness)

"Jack's always covered in paint, and the rest of the guys have learned, over time, that he's a very color-oriented artist, and so whatever color theme he sports often reflects his moods. But I don't really notice it - I notice the paint, of course, but not that it has anything to do with his character." It doesn't sound like it, but this a Javid hurt/comfort modern!AU. As always.

"Everybody knows that Davey's been working himself just near death for more credits than he needs, ever, just to graduate early. Everybody knows how tired he is, how many cups of coffee he needs daily because he hardly ever sleeps at night. Well, everybody knows except Jack." Javid, high school AU in which Crutchie is wise, Davey is leaving and, very unwisely, doesn't tell Jack.

"I bet you twenty bucks you wouldn't kiss a boy," Racetrack had said, and I'd laughed in his face. "Funny you would say that, considering I'm gay." He thought I was joking. "Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it, Romeo." He's right there, and so the first time I ever kiss Specs is to prove a point. Specs/Romeo. (Not quite as good as my last one, actually, but it's still pretty okay.)

"So what if I'd been watching him? It's not as as if it's a big deal, anyway, or at least not as big a deal as he, who has apparently noticed, decides to make it out to be. After all, we've been friends for a long time now, ever since I can really remember, so why should it be such a big deal if I've been watching him?"
