Before we begin, a very huge thank you to my friend, Bosco the Spix's-Lear's Hybrid for motivating me to start this! Anyway a simple summary of my life: I am 23 years old and yes, I am a boy, and my name is Alexander Kim (you can call me Alex for short). I was born in South Korea, but came to the United States when I was still a baby. Now you're wondering how many Korean-Americans love Rio, well you're looking at one here, I know it's weird, not all of us play Starcraft! Have a pretty average life, you know I go to school, do my homework, eat my dinner, sleep in a bed, and I watch youtube videos and play games (my favorites being the Call of Duty and Total War series). When I discovered fan fiction, however, just at the end of last year, my life changed as I started writing as a new hobby and not only that I have made many friends as time went by. Relationship status: Single and free! Who I Am In the simplest definition, I'm a 23 year old middle class, catholic, Korean American who is into writing fanfiction and lives a normal life. But I'm much more than that... I'm a full blooded Korean, born in the South Korean city of Pusan on December 15, 1995. But I neither feel Korean nor do I act like one, or even speak Korean at all. Since I came to the United States when I was just a baby, I had the experience of an American and I grew up in an American society, with my Korean parents. I have been Americanized and that's okay, I enjoy being an American, with the freedoms of the country, sometimes I feel like I'm not a Korean at all. I'm a Catholic, I go to church, (Well most of the time) I been both baptized and confirmed and I pray before during meal times when with my family. But I also fully believe that gays and lesbians have the right to be together and be married if they wish so, it is their choice and no one has the right to tell them otherwise. I also respect and see the good in other religions, even Islam, again, people have the right to believe what they want to believe in. I also don't judge others by what everyone says about them generally, everyone is different and that person you might think is bad, might actually be a very kind hearted person. For example, not every black man is a rapist or a criminal and not every Arab or Muslim is a religious fanatic and wants to be a suicide bomber. I hate it when I see people walk away from people that are different than them because they have their thoughts about that person. That black man you avoid when walking on the street, he might be a priest or a professor, and that Muslim you avoid, might be a current serviceman in the US military. I don't care about what others judge about me. For example, I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and I hate sports. (Maybe sometimes I might watch the Olympics) I don't care if someone walks by me and I'm watching MLP: FiM and they put on a face of disapproval, call me a girl, or even threat to hit me, I'm happy and proud to be a brony. It's what I love to watch and no one will tell me to stop watching it! If you can make at least one person happy, somewhere in the world, for even a minute in some point in your life, you are helping to make the world a better place. It takes more courage to stand up to a big man with a gun without a gun of your own, because if you had a gun, at least you can shoot back, but without one, well you have some nerve! If you see a person struggling, help them out, don't kick dirt in their face, if you see a person hurt or trapped, do everything you can to help that person, don't just walk away. Try to love everyone on a certain level, hate should never be an option, because if we don't even respect one another, than all of our humanity is gone. There are evil people all over the world, but as long as there are always good people who will defend others, then evil will always be in check! Those with power should restrain themselves from using it to hurt others, rather to use that power for the good of others. Don't ever feel like you're alone, fighting for a cause you believe in, because there is always someone else who shares your pain and suffering and wants to do something about it as well! It is better to make friends than enemies, for friends will always try to be there for you and you may do the same as well, remember, Friendship is Magic! Even the tiniest act of kindness can change a person's life for the better and if any person tells you that the world is already screwed up, prove them otherwise! Don't take all the credit for your work, for the people who support you helped you get popular, so give them credit. Remember to always make your new, fellow FFN brothers and sisters feel welcome, remember, you were new once too! Question: Are you thinking of doing further sequels for your OC Alex after the story called choices? -nightfly123 Answer: Actually yes I am, I actually just started Choices, not too long ago, so I still have to finish that, but I promise that story will not be the end of Alex’s life in the Amazon. In fact, I am actually thinking of doing something similar to bluecatcinema’s Amazon Adventures, but with my OC and his life with Lily and his chicks, I also want to have more of the Scarlet macaws side of things, because we hardly ever see that. Question: What, in your own personal opinion would you say is your best story you have written or even had the most pride in making? -BlueTheron Answer: That’s a tough question, because I wrote so many things that I enjoyed making. I think, maybe out of all my longer stories I made, probably The Scarlet Side, since it’s kind of like an official story on me and what I would have imagined my life to be if I was a macaw. For like my middle sized stories, I would have to say A Christmas Date, since you know, it’s Christmas and I shared a kiss with my special one while under the mistletoe, which brings me to the one shots. Confession, I think had to be the best, since I told someone that I love her, telling her my true feelings. Question: What would you do if you yourself were ever sucked into the Rio movie? -ValkyrieBaymax Answer: Well I certainly want to be my OC, a Scarlet macaw and experience my story, “The Scarlet Side” for real. I want to have Blu as my brother even if we are two completely different species of macaws and I want that happen. So ValkyrieBaymax, to answer your question, just check out that story, it will provide you with the answer. Question: What upcoming stories have you yet to put up on Fanfiction? -Tomadahawk Answer: Well expect for the ones I already mentioned, I am thinking about me, with my mixed family along with Blu and his family get stuck on a plane and end up in my birth country, South Korea, where Alex finds a surprise that’s very shocking to him. I also have a lot of ideas for short stories in Medieval Adventures, such as Roberto the Knight in a jousting contest against Knight Felipe and a girlfriend of a dead villain coming for revenge against Blu. For now, that’s all I have planned in the future. Question: Do you like WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) if so, who is your favorite wrestler? -nightfly123 Answer: Well sorry, I don’t like WWE. I’m not a sports guy like most other boys. Sorry to disappoint. Question: What’s your favorite video game? -Blackfeathers33 Answer: That’s easy. The Total War series. I love it because I love history, especially military history and the games allow me to relive history through recreations of historical battles. Plus it so interesting to see hundreds to thousands of soldiers fighting in one place. Probably my most favorite out of all the games in the series would have to be Napoleon Toal War, because I get to relive Napoleon’s grand ambition and even change history or play as one of his enemies and play a part in defeating him. Question: Which do you prefer, Liz or Lisa? -Cats 'n' Cheese Answer: Lisa, the reason is because she does not exist in real life. I created her because I really desire a little sister, someone that I can hug and comfort and she can comfort me in return. If I can’t have one in real life, might as well live out my dream on FFN. It also says that I care for my FFN sisters like I do with brothers on here. Sorry Liz, I still love you as a family member! Question: What’s the most romantic FFN story you’ve ever read? -Blackfeathers33 Answer: Certainly, Minnesota Love by Zachmoviefan. I love how he put the setting in Minnesota, because I find that most romantic stories either take place in the Amazon or Rio, which is really cliche in my opinion. Zach’s story is unique in just the setting. It also presents not only Blu and Jewel as a pair of lovebirds, but also other couples as well and there are many differences along the couples that make them also unique. Not only that, he completely changed Blu and Jewel’s kids, based on this theory, which was really interesting. I really felt this story should have won an award at the 2015 Rio Awards. Question: Who do you hate here? And why? -Cats 'n' Cheese Answer: Well I hate experienced writers who think they are so big and mighty and have no respect for their fellow FFN brothers and sisters, especially those that are new here. Such examples like Ricardo the Black Hawk and BlueTech. I heard and even seen them disrespect others for what they write, killing their self-esteem. To this day, I don’t get why they are so respected themselves. I had to work really hard to get where I am today and I couldn’t get to who I am today without the help of all my fans and writer friends who supported me. I’m always grateful for them and I always like to lend a helping hand to my fellow FFN writers. Question: What bullies don’t you like here? -Jameson The Phoenix Owl Answer: Well other than disrespectful writers who think they are high and mighty. Question: Are you thinking of adding my OC Nightfly in your story called Choices and in the sequels to Choices? -nightfly123 Answer: Well sorry, I’m not thinking of adding Nightfly in Choices, but I will be presenting some other OCs’ in that story, not spoiling it for everyone. For the sequels to Choices, maybe I will consider it, again, I just started Choices, so nothing is certain yet in the future. Question: What was your inspiration to start making fanfiction? Like what convinced you that it was something that you wanted to do? And what was the community like back when you started?” -BlueTheron Answer: I love this kind of question! Well, I actually just stumbled upon FFN when I was on the Rio wiki site, just exploring around and I saw a link to a story on FFN on a page. I read it and quite enjoyed it, I think it was a story on Blu’s parents and that was when I discovered the whole archive. I was so fascinated by everything I saw and read. I read such great works from people like Jesus loves all, Soursweettooth and bluecatcinema that I started thinking, can I be just as good and popular as these guys if I write? I really wanted to share my ideas with everyone and have a good time and I hope everyone enjoyed reading what I wrote. And well the community back when I started was really supportive of each other, I certainly got some love when I posted my very first thing. But you know soon enough you start to see the bad things as well, such as trolls attacking others and insulting them. Question: Out of all the superheroes and super villains in Marvel and DC, which is your favourite? -Tomadahawk Answer: Well sorry to disappoint again, but I’m not really into the whole Marvel and DC things, it’s just not my thing, sorry again! Question: Would you ever kill off your OC, Alex the scarlet macaw, to give your story a very sad, dramatic ending? -Blackfeathers33 Answer: No way! Personality: Shy, nervous, and awkward, but also very friendly and open when he gets to know other birds. Sticks up for the little guys and loves to defend those being hurt and mistreated. Also named after Lisa from The Simpsons) Species : Scarlet Macaw (Or a unicorn) Age: 15 Appearance: Just like her older siblings, but of course, smaller wings and body. As a pony, Lisa (Or Blooming Rose) is a red unicorn, like her older brother, but has the yellow mane and tail like her older sister and her cutie mark is a yellow rose that has yet to fully bloom. Personality: However even if she has the same style as her sister, she is more closer to her older brother Alex. And just like him, she is very shy and nervous, as well as always blushing when a boy talks to her. She loves her older brother and he loves her back, whenever she feels sad she always comes to Alex for a hug and he does so gladly. Name: Maria (Alex, Liz, and Lisa's mother) Species: Scarlet macaw (Or a unicorn) Age: 40 Appearance: Is actually very thin still for her age, and has the same colored feathers and style as Alex and Liz, but since she is very old, has gray feathers under her wings and wrinkles on her face, clearly showing signs of age. As a pony, Maria (Or Nurse Bluebell) is a blue unicorn, has a yellow mane and tail and her cutie mark is a bottle of cold medicine. Personality: Can be stern and demanding, as well, she is the tribe leader for the Scarlet macaws, but is serious about her position and makes sure her tribe is working right. She can be happy and caring and does try to show it to her family. Name: Albert (Alex, Liz, and Lisa's father) Species: Scarlet macaw (Or a unicorn) Age: 42 Appearance: Is about Eduardo's size and shares the features of his son, Alex, but like his wife, she has the gray feathers starting to grow on him and the wrinkles on his face. As a pony, Albert (Or Sword Gauntlet) is a red unicorn, has the black mane and tail like his son and his cutie mark is a white sword with a sword laying on top of it. Personality: Is more calmer than his wife and was the tribal leader for the Scarlet macaws before he passed. He's very proud of his son and was looking froward to his son becoming the next leader of the Scarlets. Name: Cadence (the daughter of Alex, named after Princess Cadance from MLP: FiM) Species: Blue/Scarlet macaw hybrid Age: 7 (a few minutes older than her brother, Eddie, age depends on the story) Appearance: Has mostly her father's red feathers, except her tail feathers are all Blue, like her mother's, with the yellow and blue linings on her wings. However she does have her mother's facial features as well as the same colored eyes and beak. Personality: Just like her father, she is quite shy and like her aunt Lisa, is a bit of a lonely sometimes. However she also is always cheery and when speaking with boys, she often giggles a lot and blushes as well. She is closer to her father and can count on him to provide fatherly comfort when she needs it. Name: Eddie (the son of Alex, named after Eduardo) Species: Blue/Scarlet macaw hybrid Age: 7 (a few minutes younger than his sister, Cadence, age depends on the story) Appearance: Has mostly his mother's blue feathers, except, like his sister, his tail feather color comes from his father, with all his other feather colors coming from his mother. However, like his sister, his facial features, as well as his eyes and beak come from his father. Personality: Is a bit of a wild, active bird, like his older cousin Tiago, but is a great brother to his sister, and listens to her. Is sad when girls pick out other boys because they are much more handsome and not weird looking like him, but he is proud to have blood from two different species of macaws. And like his father's and sister's relationship, he is closer to his mother and can count on her for comfort and guidance. Name: Bobbie (Daughter of Tomada and Sorrel, Co-created and owned with Tomadahawk) Species: Blue macaw Age: 7 (Again, depends on the story) Appearance: Has the same body shape as Bia, but has Carla's head feather style Personality: Likes to look fabulous and to be popular with other girls of her age. Name: Rosalia (Daughter of Liz and Roberto. Also her name means "Beautiful Rose" in Italian or Latin) Species: Blue/Scarlet macaw hybrid Age: Just a few weeks (In Amazonian Life) Appearance: Has her mother's red feathers on her head, but then a mixture of blue and red along her body and has the wings colored like a Scarlet. Has blue eyes and a black beak, as well as black talons, she shares the same facial features as her mother. Personality: Is very sweet and nice and loves her parents very much. Is also very smart because her older cousin Bia helped teach her things when she comes over. She also shared the same experience as her father, Roberto, of being taken away by humans, luckily, she was rescued in the nick of time. Name: Ivory (Co-created and owned with AlphaWolf97100) Species: Snow Owl Age: 19 Appearance: Has a standard plumage of white feathers and a heart-shaped face. Rather large for a female Snow Owl. Personality: Hails from a land of ice and snow with many trees. She's a healer and a fortune teller, a gypsy. Has travelled the world many times in her short life so far and has much wisdom despite her young age. Wants a mate who's a good listener and has patience, but also one who gives a lot of comfort in the form of hugs and kisses. Also wants someone who's always going to take care and look after her.
