Today, we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies such as don't spend more than you can earn, and reliable strategies like adults, not children, are in charge. His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Neosporin, sun lotion, or a band-aid to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband, places of worship became places of business, and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home without having to worry about the burglar suing you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded $3,000,000 when she sued the McDonalds that had given her the coffee.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

IF YOU ARE AGAINST CHILD ABUSE, REPOST THIS:

My name is Joey,

I am three,

My eyes are swollen,

I cannot see,

I must be stupid,

I must be bad,

What else could have made,

My daddy so mad?

I wish I were better,

I wish I weren't ugly,

Then maybe my mommy,

Would still want to hug me,

I can't do a wrong,

I can't speak at all,

Or else I'm locked up,

All day long,

When I'm awake,

I'm all alone,

The house is dark,

My folks aren't home,

When my mommy does come home,

I'll try to be nice,

So maybe I'll just get,

One whipping tonight,

I just heard a car,

My daddy is back,

From Charlie's bar,

I hear him curse,

My name is called,

I press myself,

Against the wall,

I try to hide,

From his evil eyes,

I'm so afraid now,

I'm starting to cry,

He finds me weeping,

He calls me ugly words,

He says it's my fault,

He suffers at work,

He slaps and hits me,

And yells at me more,

I finally get free,

And run to the door,

He's already locked it,

And I start to bawl,

He takes and throws me,

Against the hard wall,

I fall to the floor,

With my bones nearly broken,

And my daddy continues,

With more bad words spoken,

"I'm Sorry!" I scream,

But it's now much to late,

His face has been twisted,

Into an unimaginable state,

The hurt and the pain,

Again and again,

Oh please God, have mercy!

Oh please let it end!

And he finally stops,

And heads for the door,

While I lay there motionless,

Sprawled out on the floor,

My name is Joey,

I am three,

Tonight my daddy,

Murdered me,

And you can help,

It strickens me to the soul,

And if you read this,

And don't pass it on,

I pray for your forgiveness,

Because you would have to be,

One heartless person,

To not be affected,

By this poem,

And because you are affected,

Do something about it!

So all I ask you to do,

Is pass this on!

If you are against CHILD ABUSE.

Please Pass This On.

But seriously...you'd have to be heartless to NOT pass this on.

Why do we SLEEP in church, but stay awake for the two hour MOVIE? Why is it so HARD to talk about God, but so EASY to gossip? Why are we so BORED when we look at a Christian magazine, but find it EASY to read Playboy? Why is it so easy to IGNORE a Godly Facebook post, but we REPOST the nasty ones? Why are CHURCHES getting smaller, but BARS and CLUBS are growing? Repost if you truly believe in GOD.

When you carry a Bible, the devil gets a headache

When you open it, he collapses

When he sees you reading it, he faints

When he sees you living it, he flees

Just when you try to re-post this, he will try to discourage you.

Can you hear that voice that says this is silly and so are you if you re-post this?

I just defeated him. Copy and paste this on your profile if you're in God's army and strong enough to pick up the sword.

DISCLAIMER: I DID NOT WRITE THIS STORY!

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd.' I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.

As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him.

So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives.'

He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'

There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.

We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!' He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.. When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.

I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation.I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.

Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous!

Today was one of those days.I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!' He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. 'Thanks,' he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began, 'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach... but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.' I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. 'Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.' I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.
Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

Jesus had no servants, yet they called him Master...

He had no degree, though they called him Teacher...

He had no medicine, yet they called him Healer...

He had no army, yet kings feared Him...

He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world...

He committed no crime, yet they crucified him...

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

Jesus RULES!

My top 10 favorite Warriors characters in no specific order:

1. Jayfeather (I just love his crankiness.)

2. Firestar (uh, everyone loves him.)

3. Bramblestar (he's so cute! even though I couldn't really forgive him for ignoring Squirrelflight for 6 books, he is a great leader and isn't a mini-Tigerstar like his bro, Hawkfrost)

4. Squirrelflight (I just love her personality and felt super sorry for her when she and Brambly broke up. I felt even more sorry for her when Jessy came around and Brambly almost chose the kittypet over his former mate)

5. Silverstream (just because)

6. Bluestar (one of da best leaders in warrior history. plus, I felt so bad when she had to give up her kits to RiverClan.)

7. Yellowfang (I felt so sorry for her when Raggedstar started treating her like dirt because she became medicine cat. plus, she had to watch her son turn evil)

8. Leafpool (a very controversial choice, I know. I don't blame her for giving her kits to Suirrely to raise. Personally, I think it was all Crowfeather's fault. she was a great medicine cat and a pretty good cat in general. she just made mistakes, like all of us do.)

9. Spottedleaf (I just love her for some reason)

10. Tallstar (he remembered how ThunderClan returned WindClan back to the forest. Unlike Onestar, he tried to be friends with Firestar. Onestar was good as Onewhisker, but horrible as Onestar)

My top 10 least favorite Warrors characters in no specific order:

1. Crowfeather (dude, how do all these she-cats keep falling for him? Come on! Poor Leafpool)

2. Tigerstar (he's evil)

3. Darkstripe (also evil)

4. Pinestar (uh, you basically abandon everything you stand for and still make it into StarClan? seriously, Erin?)

5. Nightcloud (people say she's blameless, but she pushed Breezepelt to believe he was wronged by his ThunderClan family. Plus, she's just hostile to anyone. And she's so old!)

6. Brokenstar (he made kits fight and blamed their deaths on Yellowfang. No wonder he's the leader of the Dark Forest)

7. Millie (come on, girl! You're the worst Silverstream replacement ever! You abandon your uninjured kits and fawn over the injured one)

8. Rainflower (the opposite of Millie. Poor Crookedstar!)

9. Leafstar (okay, she's a good leader and all, but allowing kittypets to join SkyClan as "daylight warriors" was a huuuuuge mistake, as we learn in An Apprentices's Quest. And she falls for a KITTYPET named Billystorm (OMG, when I first heard the name, I LOLed so hard))

10. Dovewing (uh, she's so whiny, doesn't listen, and breaks the Warrior Code. Plus, she wants to be "normal", but when her wish is finally granted, she wishes she had her powers back. Hypocrite nation)

My favorite warriors shippings:

Dustpelt and Ferncloud--Dude, they're so cute together, plus they had 7 kits. But 5 of them died. :(

Firestar and Sandstorm--I love this relationship because Sandstorm initially hated Firestar, but after he saved her life she started seeing the Warrior side of him and not the kittypet he used to be

Graystripe and Silverstream--they're like a Warriors version of Romeo and Juliet.

Bramblestar and Squirrelflight--they're so cute together

My least favorite warriors shippings

Graystripe and Millie--I hate Millie, and I hate Briarlight (not her personality, but the fact that she was...THERE). If Graystripe hadn't met Millie, then Briarlight wouldn't have been born, and then Honeyfern wouldn't have died and then Berrynose wouldn't have mated with her sister RIGHT AFTER HER DEATH.

Berrynose and Poppyfrost--Okay, I get that they love each other, but I find it wrong that right after his poor Honeyfern's death, Berrynose immediately goes to Poppyfrost and get her pregnant. Like, come on!

Willowpelt and Patchpelt--they were siblings. yuck. but then again, if they hadn't been mates, Graystripe wouldn't have been born.

Crowfeather and Nightcloud--they have no chemistry. Nightcloud was old and used Crowfeather to give her kits, and Crowy used her to have legal kits. And they produced Breezepelt, a total monster. I hope he dies sometime...

Just remember that you are beautiful no matter what :)
