"What are you doing here? You're not my friend," Shane tried to be as gruff and unlikable as possible. "Yeah actually, I think I'm your cousin's friend?" She replied so haphazardly that it wasn't even a rebuttal, but a question. What. How had Jas befriended the only person in Pelican Town as antisocial as him? And why did he feel the need to be so righteously indignant?
