I read Harry Potter and Naruto stories. I tend to only read stories where Harry and Naruto are the protagonists. I also only read het pairings with the exception of fics where a character has their gender reversed (eg.Fem Haku).

I hate character bashing in stories. Especially characters who don't deserve it. Whenever I read something where Tsunade is bashed for doing a poor job as godmother to Naruto I stop reading it. She is NOT his godmother in canon, stop giving her this title just so you can bash her. Also Lily Potter and Kushina being bad mothers (especially in twin fics). Have you read the source material that your writing fanfiction about? Did you conveniently skip the part where both mothers sacrificed their lives to protect their sons? Why would a sibling drastically change their parents feelings. It's like you little bitches have something against strong female characters unless their part of a harem.

Also am I not the only one dissappointed that Kushina and Jiraiya have not been resurrected? Kishimoto gave an excuse for Jiraiya but still I can't see a better person to capture Naruto than her. And what about the Rikudo Sennin? I have a feeling he might be the one Madara made such a big deal about.

Pairings I read:

Naruto x Sakura (Naruto is the hero of the manga and it is quite satisfying to see him get his dream girl. Its called Naruto! not Hinata! Stop writing fics with Naruto as protagonist which center around her wants. And stop bashing Sakura for how she acted in the academy/during part I. She - like Naruto - has come a long way. Sakura is a main character, Hinata is not. Because of this we see more of her flaws but we also get to see her develop and grow up. Don't fault her for not being in love with Naruto at the start- this may seem harsh but he was an undesirable at the start. He has no friends, is socially retarded, is seen as an idiot due to his wild claims despite being the bottom of the class and is a trouble maker. She hasn't seen any of his redeeming qualities yet so of course she would try to distance herself from him. Bashing her for this is petty.)

Naruto x Any Girl (Though I tend to stay away from NaruHina as its so bland, the author has to make her completely ooc to make her likeable).

Harry x Luna (Luna is awesome, enough said)

Harry x Narcissa (What better way for Harry to one up his rival than to seduce his MILF mother.)

Harry x Bellatrix (I guess she holds the same appeal to young men as Malfoy Sr./Voldemort holds to girls)

Pairings I don't understand:

Kakashi x Male character / Jiraiya x Male character (I dont see how you could possible justify this using evidence from the series. Seriously you Yaoi writers come up with the strangest pairings)

Shikamaru x Harem (He could barely handle one woman, let alone two and especially not Ino and Temari together. Him doing this is extremely ooc.)

Harry x Male character (Correct me if I'm wrong but the books pretty much cover all of Harry's teenage years and I don't remember him having any homosexual thoughts towards Draco/Snape/Voldemort. Again you slash writers come up with some crazy ideas.)

Draco x Hermione (Hermione is too good for that arrogant rascist. Anyone who pairs them together portrays her in a derogatory manner in my opinion. She has too much self-worth to have anything to do with him. I once saw a fic where she got together with Draco after he saved her from getting raped by Harry and Ron. WTF? Have you people even read the books?)

Girl! Harry x Draco/Zabini/Nott/Voldemort (Why does a female Harry also end up with a Slytherin? There is a reason why canon Harry pretty much avoided everyone in Slytherin during school - you know the whole war with Voldemort. Just admit the only reason you write Girl! Harry is to self insert your self into a story where not only you are a heroine but also fall in love and live happily ever after with the character you think is hot)

Pairings I can't stand:

Side Pairings! Seriously some writers have this strange urge to pair up every single character they can, no matter how minor they are. Also they usually use crack pairings. Yuck. When I'm reading a Harry/Luna story I don't want to read some obscure side plot where one of the Weasley twins returns during Harry's sixth year so you can pair him with Susan Bones. If I want to read crack pairings I would go search for fics of that pairing but I didn't so how about writing some Harry and Luna instead!

Chouji x Ayame (Really? This always appears as a side pairing and it pisses me off. Hmmm, she's a pretty waitress in her early twenties... And he's an angry fat kid. People seem to think this pairing works because she is in the food service industry... And he's fat. Iruka x Ayame is a much better pairing. She would have been impressed with him for always buying Naruto ramen ;)

Harems in Serious Stories (There is no reason to have a harem in anything that is not a humour or lemon fic. All your doing is showing your readers that you've never kissed a girl. Maybe if you actually dated a girl you could add in more scenes for a couple instead of having to bring in more characters)
