![]() Author has written 1 story for Avatar: Last Airbender. Howdy, people of fanfiction.net! I'm quite new to this whole "fanfiction" business, and any comments and criticisms on my works posted will be much appreciated. Don't expect much in the way of character bashing from me, I usually try to empathize with the character and find out why they act the way they do. So even if the characters actions are bad (IE Sakura), I try and find a way to give adequate, human reasons for it. I also don't write bios that much so I shall emulate (read: copy exactly) how other authors have written theirs. Starting off with the likes/dislikes section: Likes: In terms of anime, I enjoy the obvious ones; Naruto and Bleach. As well as Black Lagoon, and Avatar the Last Airbender (it is listed on ff.net as anime/manga, so it counts in my books). For TV shows, I am really liking Reaper (pretty much Brimstone, but very funny), both Stargate shows, as well as the Colbert Report and The Daily Show. I also loves me some tacos. I also, of course, like reading fanfiction. And after reading so many, I was pushed to try my hand at it as well. So I hope to create a story that doesn't suck. And my final like... Shikamaru. He rocks. He rocks hard. Dislikes: Liver... and Sakura pre-timeskip. Post-timeskip she's cool (three cheers for character growth!) Opinions (assuming you care): Naruto: I am not going to rant on how they "gimped Naruto completely" but I will say that I am somewhat underwhelmed by the manga as of now. Most characters have had time to shine, showing off the skills they had gained over the timeskip. Kakashi with his new sharingan, Sakura and all her medical skills and strength, Yamato and his awesomeness, Shikamaru and his continuation of rocking hard, and Sasuke and all his abilities. Our favorite blonde however... hasn't really shown any real skills of his own (I do not count Kyuubi as his own power), aside from the Odama Rasengan (which tires him out after 1 use), and the Fuuton: Rasenshuriken (which hurts him badly). On the subject of Sasuke, and all of his Mary-Sue skills? In the first battle where he dominated the entire team pretty much, I can justify that. The whole group went through a rather big fight with no time to rest up until that point. Naruto himself was exhausted after going into 4-tail mode, and Sasuke was completely fresh. My only real problem was with Sasuke's fight against Deidara. I am pretty damned skeptical of Sasuke summoning Manda, hypnotizing it with his sharingan to get it to protect him, on low chakra, in the time it took Deidara to explode. I am pretty much hoping that Kishimoto is trying to prove that while Sasuke is powerful with all the skills he has been given (curse seal, chidori, sharingan), that hard-earned skills will be able to overcome it (Rock Lee's whole speech on that "genius of hard work can beat a natural genius" thing). Of course, I could be completely off base, and Sasuke is really just Mary-Sued out the yin-yang. |
